This is a story about a man who work as an OFW in the Middle East. I will not include his name for his privacy. I'm just gonna call him Fred.
His story starts when he dreamed to be a successful person for his family, wife and only son. He started looking forward for his dream and started working as an OFW in Middle East which is he is qualified for the available job as a Waiter.
His first 4 months staying and working as a waiter in Middle East is all good and it seems there is no problem for him. But days,weeks and months has passed he started to feel a unusual pain in his back but he ignored it in the first time. Weeks passed and he noticed that this pain is still in his back. The man gets worried for himself and as soon as he had a money left from his salary, he immediately went to a Doctor and get a checkup.
But it seems that the Doctor does not know what is the problem in his back but the man said his back is in pain. The man got so worried and days had passed and he went to another Doctor for the second time and even at the third time. But suddenly all the different Doctors he went through does not know what is real problem that causing the man's back pain.
The man decided to just go home to his family and one day he went to his Manager and asking him to go home because his suffering from a pain that he doesn't really know. At first his Manager does not agree. But the man never lose hes hope and hes desperately want to go home to his family, so he pleased his Manager to allow him to go home and stop working as a Waiter. Finally his Manager allowed him to go home and his Manager told him to wait for his exit visa.
The young man stops working and waited for his exit visa to come. The man also decided to seperate himself from his other colleagues which is he sleep together before in one room. He seperated because he don't want to cause any problems to his colleagues. And he said that he don't want his colleagues to worry about him. The man take all of his things and he moved in a dark and dirty vacant room in their appartment.
The man stayed in the room every single day and waited for his exit visa to come. And he didn't even go outside of his room and talk to others. He feel so bad that he didn't even want to get a single food in their Restaurant to eat. But his colleagues gives him a food everyday for lunch and dinner. But weeks and months passed his exit visa is still not coming and also one day his colleagues stops giving him a food everyday.
The man says "I feel so loss, please god help me i trust you". One day the man met a person who also work in their Restaurant as a delivery boy. The delivery boy wants the man to become his friend and they became friend by the way. The delivery boy ask the man (Fred), do you eat everyday friend? The man says before i was eating everyday, my old colleagues gives me food before but now sometimes I don't eat in a day and sometimes I eat only once in a day. The delivery boy feels sorry for the man and told him, "Don't worry my friend everyday when my break time comes I'm gonna bring food and we will eat together." The man smiles at the delivery boy and said, "Thank you."
The man is still waiting for his exit visa to come and hes asking his Manager everytime to give his exit visa as soon. The man waited every single day in his dark and dirty room. He eats everyday together with the delivery boy. But the man is losing his hope to get home because he already waited for too long but nothing is happening. He became so lonely and he feels worthless that he can't do anything about his situation. The man said, "I thought this opportunity to work here is the start of my dream for my loved family but I'm wrong. This is the Darkest Time of my life."
