A tale of two friends
Hello friends, I am new here and this is my first post on this platform. I want to tell a story I wrote a while ago, and I wish to share with you guys. Here it goes;
It was the beginning for the fresh student when new intake were admitted into the university, young men of distinct tribes, culture and from different parts of the nation moving in together in dorms. Fortunately or Unfortunately (I’ll leave you to decide which is correct in the end), two young men found themselves living together in the same room, both of unparallel background. Jason was from a wealthy family, his father owns an organization, while David came from a poor family, they hardly could get by day after day, his coming to school was somewhat a miracle but David was brilliant.
David would do laundry and run errands for Jason to earn peanuts, in other for him to survive, not mentioning other chores he did. David was constantly maltreated by his privileged roommate who made himself of utmost importance in David’s life. It was obvious they did not get along and we know who was to blame.
Late into the second semester of the freshman year, Jason was rushed down to the school clinic and was diagnosed of kidney failure. His family was contacted and despite their effort they could not find a donor. David upon hearing the pathetic condition of Jason decided to donate one of his kidney to save a friend, exactly how he had seen Jason all this while.
The operation was done in no time and it was successful. Jason had thought his parents arranged for someone to donate a kidney or maybe they gave him theirs but to his surprise it was his roommate whom he constantly maltreated, was the person that donated his kidney to save his life. It was then and there Jason realized what a fool he had been; he had been treating his benefactor wrongly. Jason apologized to David and begged for forgiveness, there after they became good friends and David’s expenses were catered for by Jason’s father. Jason and David soon grew from being friends to becoming brothers.
MORAL OF THE STORY
