To Grow Up, You Must First Come Down

It's been a while, I couldn't post articles due to school activities. But you can enjoy this piece before I'm gone again.

The apostle Paul deals with this, specifically challenging the believers in Corinth who were having their identity connected to a specific leader – “ _Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you_

Looking outside the Scriptures, we see this attitude demonstrated in our world today.

People like to be associated or connected to those who are popular, they usually refer to them as the “ *happening people* ”.

As a people we like to be identified with successful people, we like to hang around them and behave as though we are part of the reason for their success, meanwhile we had nothing to do with their success, in fact we know next to nothing about how they succeeded.

There is nothing wrong in wanting to be associated with successful people as long as our motive in doing so is right.

📌One of the right reason to desire to identify with successful people should be that we want to draw inspiration from them to be successful.

📌We want to understudy them and learn lessons that if properly applied will make us successful as well.

For this reason, yes it is good to associate with successful people.

Everyone desire to be successful, everyone desire to grow spiritually, materially, physically and so on.

In order to grow or to succeed however there is a very important key that must be applied.

This key is even much more important than associating with successful people.

🗝️The key for our growth is allowing ourselves to decrease in our own lives and let the Lord increase.

This key🗝️is the great secret that John the Baptist revealed to us in our anchor passage for this devotional. He states that it is his joy that the Lord was coming on the scene more fully and that people were following Jesus.

Can you and I say the same thing? Are we ready to allow God to increase in our lives while we reduce?

Christ increasing in us while we reduce can manifest itself in various ways. It can be in the form of somebody else whom you consider to be beneath you being preferred and lifted above you. If that happens to you how will you feel?

If someone else gets a promotion at work or it seems that all the good you have done has been forgotten are you able to humbly rejoice?

The search for the road to heaven is an earnest quest to ensure that *whatever happens to us after this life is better than what happened to us in this life*

. Many religions, teachers, and gurus offer their take on paradise, and how to get there.

The Book of Revelation describes _Heaven as a beautiful place with streets of gold, no suffering, gates of pearl, no sorrow_ , and infinite beauty; *all of these wonderful attributes pale in comparison to the joy that being in the eternal presence of God will bring forever*

I praise you because the glory and lifter of all those who humble themselves before you. Forgive me when I feel I need to be exalted for selfish reasons. Please help me allow Your Spirit to work in my heart so that You may truly increase in all areas of my life in Jesus' name. Amen. As as a necessary key to success please help me to decrease so that you can increase in me in Jesus name. As I journey on this side of eternity may I never use my hand to work against my spiritual, material and physical growth in Jesus name.

♟️Heaven is the dwelling place of Almighty God.

♟️It is where His holy nature shines unveiled and in its full glory and majesty.

♟️ It is where the angels dwell in service and worship.

♟️ It is a place of peace, beauty, and joy.

*This wondrous place is also where man’s heart often yearns to be.*

The Bible says that *God loves His people, and wants to be in fellowship with them.* When the world was created, Adam - the first man - and his wife Eve lived in harmony with God. In the Garden of Eden, there was a tree that could give man the knowledge of good and evil.
