The life of faith is a life that is based on belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe that He is everything that He says He is. The life of faith, is the lifestyle that is based totally on believing and putting to practice all that Jesus said about Himself. It is a lifestyle that is based on total trust in God even when it appears unreasonable or foolish to do so.
According to the Apostle Paul in Gal. 2: 20, to live the life of faith, you must die to your old life. This old life is a life that is characterised by lack of faith in God, disobedience to God, and other negative traits. This old life is a life that promotes unbelief, people who are still living this old life are generally doubtful of God and His power, they are double minded and very unstable in their ways. And the bibles tells us clearly that such persons should not expect to receive anything from the Lord (James 1: 7-8). Such persons may pray, they may be very gifted in fasting and in holding personal vigils, but as long as they do not die to this old life they should not expect to receive anything tangible from the Lord.
The apostle Paul having died to the Old life and now living this life of faith in Jesus Christ did so much exploits for God, as he moved from place to place preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus, his life was threatened on several occasion but God delivered him, with this life of faith he enjoyed divine provision, divine protection and he was a channel through which many experienced diverse miracles.
This can be your story as well when you live this life of faith. This is not to say that there will be no challenges, no problems or no affliction, but the assurance the life of faith gives you is that whatever the challenges, trouble or affliction you will ultimately overcome.
The life of faith is a life that stubbornly holds on to Jesus and refuse to accept “No” for an answer as the Canaanite woman demonstrated in Matt. 15: 21 – 28. She refused to be discouraged by the initial refusal of Jesus to attend to her situation, the disciples of Jesus that may have helped her appeal to Jesus instead sought to compound her problems, she refused to let go of Jesus, she kept running after Him and pleading for His help and eventually her desire was granted.
The life of faith teaches you to hold on to Jesus, He will come through for you eventually if you refuse to give up and persist to the end.
Now ask the Lord to please forgive you of every act of unbelief, especially unbelief in the person of Jesus and in what He said about Himself. Ask the Lord that may the old life die in you and may the life of faith in the Lord Jesus come alive in me now in Jesus name. Tell the Lord that you reject and dissociate yourself from everything that will obstruct your ability to live the life of faith in Jesus name. Ask Him that, as you live the life of faith may you begin to enjoy abundance of divine provisions in every area of your life in Jesus name.
