Text: Psalms 146:3-9
God is indeed a sure help in the time of need. David warns that we do not put our trust in people and we may want to ask why. He gives the answer to this question in verse 4. He says that man is mortal and whatever plan of help he has perishes with him the day he dies. True joy and rest come from the help of God because God is immortal and limitless. He executes justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry and freedom to the prisoners. He opens the eyes of the blind, he raises those who are bowed down. He watches over strangers, He relieves the fatherless and the widow of their pains and burdens. Amazing,right?
From all the help that God gives His children, you may be in need of one. He says will not cast out anyone that comes to Him(John 6:37 )No matter the situation now, remember that because God is you, you will not be moved, He will help you in the break of dawn. (Psalm 46:5) Weeping may endure for the night but because the break of dawn is here, your joy which cannot be negotiated is already here! Rejoice!
