Text: Eph. 2: 4-6; Psa. 91: 14
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”
"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name”
Nobody in his right mind likes the valley, and nobody likes valley experiences. Everybody desires the top, everybody in their pursuit whether godly or ungodly pursuit aim at the top. Many have done a lot of terrible things just to climb to the top, some even have had to kill, just to get to the top. The first thing you need to know is that what a lot of people regard as the top is not actually the top, it may resemble the top but it is not the top. The devil has succeeded in creating an illusion of the top, which he presents and offers to people as the top but actually it is not the top, it is just a mirage.
One of the ways of knowing that a top is false is in the way the person who claims to be there got there. You can never genuinely get to the top through illegal and ungodly means. So those who attempt to get to the top through rituals, dishonesty or some other ungodly means may eventually be offered what looks like the top but actually it is not.
The top primarily is a place of rest, so when you claim that you have gotten to the top and you do not have rest then you just have an illusion of the genuine. You claim you are at the top, yet you are fearful, always looking over your shoulder, that cannot be the top. You claim that you are at the top, yet the sight of police or law enforcement agents send shivers down your spine that cannot be the top. You claim that you are at the top, yet you cannot get any decent sleep at night, as a result of terrible nightmares every night, that cannot be the top. You claim to be at the top, yet you cannot move around your neighbourhood without armed body guard by your side then that cannot be the top. The bible says that it is the wicked that flees when no one pursues (Prov. 28: 1), certainly the wicked have no business at the top because they do not know the way to get there, and they do not have what it takes to get there.
Apart from the fact that the top is a place of rest, the top is also a place of security, you cannot be at the top and still be plagued with the feeling of insecurity. Many today who are celebrated by the world as successful men and women who have reached the top are still very much insecure – physically, emotionally and spiritually, this certainly cannot be the top. When you genuinely get to the top, your confidence in the Lord is firm and every problem of insecurity disappears.
If you are born again then your place in life is not in the valley, neither is it in the plain. Your place is on top and not just on top but in the heavens. The first of our anchor text, Eph. 2: 4-6, assures us that as long as we are born again, we have a seat or if you prefer a throne in the heavens where you are seated along with our Lord Jesus Christ. The passage also reveals to us that it is the Almighty God that can lift a man to this heavenly position and seat us there. Our second anchor passage confirms to us that it is knowing and loving Jesus that qualifies us for the top.
Hard work is good and as God’s children, we should be hard working, the bible frowns at laziness, but hard work does not get us to the top, there are many people well known to us who are working very hard, but they remain in the low point of life. But when as a sinner you confess your sins to God and repent of them, and then accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, God makes room for you at the top, He places a throne there for you and seats you there. May God make room for you at the top in Jesus name, but the answer to that prayer depends on you. Shalom.

1. Thank God for His promise to exalt you.
2. Ask God to make you the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.
3. Ask God to destroy every power opposing your all-round lifting
4. Ask God for the grace to maintain your exalted position in Him by living sin-free lifestyle.
5. Ask God to release His power on you and make you relevant in your generation.
