How to stay cool and safe in hot weather: the forest will often be cooler than the open field. That pleasant feeling sitting under the tree on a hot sunny day... Yesterday it was really too hot so we decided to spend the day in Vallombrosa, a forest near my house, a cool and shady haven in the summer months. The Vallombrosa Forest is one of the most famous greenery spaces in Italy. The forest extends over 1,279 hectares and ranges from 450 and 1,450 metres above sea level. The most common species, in addition to silver firs, are beech trees (widespread in higher elevations), black pines and Douglas firs. Chestnut trees, oaks, maples and hornbeams grow at lower altitudes. According to VisitTuscany #DanaT

Those tall trees are really a good source of shade. It's amazing how nature brings coolness to a hot weather. I wish we have something like that. Forests here are not ideal places to visit. It's kinda dangerous here. Have fun cooling down there.
