Honey has been one of man's staple food sources for as long as history can go. Both animals and humans benefit from it. Ants, bees, bears, and humans all are capable of digesting honey either for survival or just simply to satisfy our cravings. Despite its sticky nature, honey is an all-wonder food source because of its healing and pharmaceutic properties. Honey is known as an anti-inflammatory substance as it contains chemicals that would reduce swelling, itchiness, and burns, or at least help alleviate the pain. Since the dawn of humanity's existence, honey has been used for that purpose. Honey is also a good substance that could combat certain types of pathogens since its sugary and sticky substance helps neutralize any liquid present in these pathogens, depriving them of any source for survival since water is essential for them to survive, and eventually killing them almost instantly. Despite the benefits of consuming honey, it is still required to be cautious in consuming it because honey can have different chemicals infused in it as bees obtain their nectar from different plants, making the act of choosing honey a slippery slope when not being careful. If you're lucky enough, you might be able to ingest honey that has been infused with psychoactive properties or consume a lethal/hazardous concoction that may put your life at risk. So anyway, those are my thoughts about honey, thank you for reading.
