Why use plasterboard!
Drywall, known as plasterboard, is a construction material used for a long time in the USA. In recent years, it has entered the market in most countries, being preferred for the advantages it offers compared to other wall finishing methods.
Gypsum board tiles are primarily used indoors, but some special types of tiles, treated to prevent water absorption and the appearance of mold, can be used for cladding facades, cladding the inner faces of roofs or creating partition walls between balconies.
What is the difference between plasterboard and traditional finishes:
Creates smooth surfaces
They are easy to install by one or two people
The execution time is reduced
It does not require further processing, the walls can be painted immediately
The assembly is dry, thus avoiding moisture
Protects against fires, plasterboard being a natural fire retardant
The thermal and acoustic insulation is better than in the case of massive walls
What types of drywall do you find?
This construction material can be found in the form of gypsum boards, and contains natural gypsum, paper, water, loosening and coagulation agents, as well as adhesives.
Depending on certain characteristics, you can find the following types in commerce:
Without special features - they are the cheapest plasterboard, white in color, which can be used for false ceilings, to make interior walls, in places where the humidity is lower than 65%.
Water resistant - if you want to make partition walls in the bathroom or kitchen, to put a false ceiling in areas where there is high humidity, then you will use this type, specially treated to resist water. The paper on the outside is water resistant, and the plaster is also specially treated against excessive humidity. The tiles are green.
Fire-resistant - these plates are pink in color and contain certain fire-resistant materials, an important percentage being glass fiber. It is recommended both for plasterboard ceilings and for walls in areas exposed to the risk of fire.

Homeowners who opt for the thermal insulation of the home through the gypsum-cardboard and mineral wool system, obtain an important economy in terms of the costs for the consumption of electricity, by reducing the time of using the air conditioning.
