Axie Community Alpha: Getting Started!

Axie Infinity is a digital pet universe where players battle, raise, and trade fantasy creatures called Axies.
Axie is the first blockchain game to introduce:
A mobile application.
The ability to earn money by simply playing the game.
This guide will walk you through setting up your digital wallet, buying Axies, and downloading the application.

Getting Started with Blockchain Games
Axie has a fully player owned economy allowing players to seamlessly sell and trade their game assets for digital currency. To enable this, Axie game assets exist as tokens.
In order to store tokens, users must download a digital wallet to play the game. We recommend using MetaMask.
MetaMask takes around 1 minute to download and set up. Make sure to store your secret 12 word password (private key) in a safe place.
Unlike your bank account, a digital wallet is owned 100% by you, meaning that account recovery is difficult/impossible if you have lost your keys!
Acquiring Axies
As of this writing, approximately 140,000 Axies exist in the world. In order to play the game, you’ll need at least 3 Axies.
Axies can be purchased on the official Axie Infinity marketplace which you can find at https://marketplace.axieinfinity.com/ — note that you must complete your account set up before you can interact with the market.
In order to buy Axies you’ll need to have some of the digital currency Ether (ETH).
If you’re totally new to Cryptocurrencies you can buy ETH through Coinbase.
Note that it may take a few days for you to acquire your ETH.
Downloading the Application
In order to play the game you’ll need 3 Axies.
Once you have 3 Axies you’re ready to download the application and start playing!

After you’ve downloaded the game you’ll be asked to enter the email/password that you’ve added to your account.
