No time for my own photos today but my parents sent some pictures. They had a visit from a cheeky and apparently not at all shy blue tit (Blaumeise). They belong to the common species with about 4 million breeding pairs in Germany. Here we see a female. Males have a black stripe on their belly.

But it looks like a yellow-titted bluetail to me. ☺ We don't have any proper tits---now, my ex did but that's another story---but we have a tufted titmouse. This is from one of my feeders out front.

I'm not sure what the correct translation is but I'm well aware that my translation makes you smile. Here the bird is called "Blaumeise". Would that be one blue titmouse or titmice? Yours shows when I search it as a Eurasion Blue Tit, and I have seen a few people post photos of one called a Great Tit. Wikipedia says my titmouse is related to your tits, and it appears my chickadees may be members of that family... One thing I do really like is seeing people around the globe posting their local birds, there are so many different kinds.
