Peace is waiting for you

Today’s verse is one of understanding when we realize that we are not in charge. We can find peace at any time in our lives when we look through the grace and acknowledgment of our savior Jesus Christ.
I really think that our society programs us to convince us that everyone us against us and there is no peace available. Things always go wrong and it’s so easy to blame the world…. And sometimes even the Lord.
However, this is an illusion constructed by the adversary. When things don’t go our way, take a break and pray about it. Ask the Lord what He is showing us or what He is protecting us against.
Just two days ago, we had a day that everything went wrong. The one day that my wife didn’t charge her phone and it died. The one day that for some reason, the lid on a bottle of pinesol that we just bought at Costco broke off in our trunk. Communication between the B1 parking and first floor Costco was out. We waisted over an hour trying to clean out the trunk of our car and get some help from Costco. Every time I walked up to talk to the manager, she assured me that people were on the way. When I walked to our car, no one was there. I walked back and forth 4 times trying to get help.
The old me would have opened an attack of swear words after the second walk up and down the stairs. But I kept praying. Not for everything to be miraculously fixed, but to understand what the Lord wanted of me.
Nothing really got cleaned that well, so the drive home was unbearable. I was thirty minutes late for work.
But I found peace by not focusing on the world and the rules that my work insisted on. I truly believe the Lord was working through us for a greater good. Maybe for our family, or maybe for someone involved.
Find the Lord in times if tribulation. He is on your side and he is offering peace, if we only look for it.

I ran into this during all the COVID mess with Facebook. Anything not fitting the “majority’s idea of the truth was banned or flagged.
Living overseas, a lot of the truth in Taiwan was counter US standards. When I started factual statements from doctors, professors, and educational institutions, my posts were removed. One country’s truth didn’t fit with the other. Glad that’s over.
Then we have the ultimate truth. The truth from the Lord that is personal and loving. We are so blessed that we have scripture that can teach us this ultimate truths that are above man.
These are the truths that we should seek. When we do and find the Love and Sacrifice from the Lord, we can have our freedom that is above all.

Walk by the Spirit

Today’s verse is exactly what so many of us need. The flesh is full of temptations. It’s like the animalistic part of us. It is lead by lack, want, lust, hormones, and peer pressure. It can convince us that we clearly know what we need and what it good for us…. But is that so?
Of course not. It doesn’t take long for anyone to think of a time when we thought “this is a good idea” and then BOOM! All hell broke loose and we were praying for a way out of the mess we made.
Only through the Holy Spirit can we be guided on a path that truly promises us peace and happiness in the long run.
More often than not, following the Spirit puts us in a path that our flesh will grumble against. Hormones might be on a rampage. We might face persecution from our peers. But take confidence it is the correct path and the one that is in your best interest.
God works with the long term view, while we are stuck with the short term view. Trust Him.

Most of us get this verse backwards, or at least, we do or our planning first and then want the Lord to take care of the rest. But this Proverb tells us to commit what we have or what we are doing and let the Lord make the plan.
