Nothing was greater or respected more than the stars and heavenly bodies. Some cultures even worshipped them and called them gods (little g). This Psalm, blows over those cultures beliefs by stating that one god, our God, not only made them- but they declare glory to Him. Imagine that statement back then. Wow. We are still wowed by this statement because the skies still amaze and inspire us. Nothing is picture more than the sky. Every morning and evening is nothing less than a masterpiece. Look up to the sky and give thanks and praise to Him.
