It comes right after the miracle of the loaves and fish. Everyone ate too their full, and unlike mana, it would not go bad the next day. It’s easy for us to lose the importance of bread in our modern world because we have a plethora of food and seldom worry about it. But bread at that time was the staple. Starvation was common. Today spiritual starvation is rampant. He is the most important thing in our life. More important than our smart phone, social media, work, and food. Let’s treat Him like He deserves, for He is the bread of life. Within Him e we find everything we need.
