We all run to something in troubling and painful times. As children were instinctively run for our parents. As we grow, we run to friends and family. Many people today run to social media or other more harmful addictions. How much better would our lives be if we ran to the Lord first? How strange is it that most of us run to imperfect sanctuary? Friend and family are human. Their love is limited and not always available. Addictions make us feel better in the short run, but in the long run they fail and there is no love there. Run to the Lord first next time you need someone. He is always available. Even more, he is already with us and ready to give us what we really need.
