My wife is out of Our school for a whole, so I’m watching the kids in day care. They have to finish their homework and e we check it for them. When they finish everything, they can go downstairs and play or read books.

Busy day. This is my first chance to get on noisecash. Today we started class with an animal word search. These are great for practicing and remembering vocabulary. We turned it into a writing game. The students did very well with few mistakes.

Good morning. My brother-in-law asked me to photograph his bikers club. So we went out and he let me use his Cannon. I love his camera. So I spent the morning drinking ahead of the group and waiting to take pictures.

This is the wedding gift that I got my sister and her hubby. It’s a crystal engraved picture from their wedding. This is the first time that I have seen it. I think the company did a good job. It covered with an LED light.

Just finished my last class. When I got home, my son and his cousin were playing basketball. The age difference is big, so it’s funny to watch them. My son is lucky because he had a lot of cousins and they are all good.

Back at the elementary school for English class. This is for students who lack money to go to a cram school or whose parents are too busy to help at home. It’s for a good cause, so I don’t mind not getting paid. This is Eric. He’s reciting A to Z with the matching words and spelling them as he goes. Great job, Eric.

I got a note from a parent. I love communication with parents. Most patents feel that if they pay money the teacher has to take care of everything. After each test I make note to tell the parents how to help their children. I’m glad at least one parent got back to me.

On our walk, my wife and I passed a local fish pond. It was great to see that the water levels are high. We had two weeks of nonstop rain. Hopefully the Lord will bless us with no droughts this summer.

We found it an hour ago that relatives would be visiting, so we had to cook dinner for lunch. Chicken, mushroom and chicken soup, cabbage, purple vegetable, radish cake, pickled radish and rice. Anyone coming?

I posted this picture earlier of what our garden gave us. I had to search for the name. From mandarin the dictionary translated it at knotweed- which is wrong. I had too too a picture drastic to find out it’s a kohlrabi or German turnip. It’s from the cabbage happy with a very light flavor. Wow. Learn something new every day;)

We have to teach a DIY cooking class for our elementary students and a university class. So my wife and I are practicing Belgium waffles and cream brûlée. These are mini waffles. Can you tell me if they taste good?

Today we have a special class. We have two young student that go to a Japanese school in taipei. They have a one month vacation that doesn’t match Taiwanese school vacations. So we will teach them Monday to Friday morning 8:30- 11:30. They are well behaved and smart.

This is the older brother of the special two students that we are teaching this month. They have a hour and a half English class and then an hour and a half Chinese class. So they are quite busy. They are very polite and hard working. I hope they can learn a lot.

It’s break time at the elementary school. Most of the kids run outside to play basketball. This is woody. He rather play this game. You must balance a ball and move it throw a 3D maze. It’s quite difficult and requires steady hands. Woody is quite good at it. Have you played this kind of game?

Over the weekend my niece hosted an activity in the community activity center. It was too make decorating pots and plants. I think it was a nice activity. Do you like them?

Now my students are having a house proposition test. They have to write questions and answers based on pictures. It’s difficult for them, but I know they can do it if the focus.

Almost done. I’m teaching my last class. Today I had 11 hours of class. Really crazy. One of our teachers went to the hospital for a pregnancy check. She had to get an emergency c-section. They are both healthy. But we are short staffed

Today we went to get some tea from a store. It’s very interesting because the drinks are the same in most stores, but the design makes a different. This store is designed like an old house in Taiwan. It’sa very nice feeling.

During break time, my elementary students are taking turns playing with a ball balance maze. It’s have of smarts, hands and eye, coordination and patience. Its a great way to improve concentration. Have you played this game?

Our school wants students to be bilingual. So the principal has a plan to have A contest. Student have to write a story in Chinese and then translate it into English and draw a picture. This is the first one we need to translate. But instead of everyone doing their own, we are having a class activities to translate. I think it’s more fun.

Test time…. I remember hating that the. I really don’t want my students to feel the same. So we always okay a writing game before the test to review and get them warmed up. Then after the test, we correct the test together.

Getting ready to make some pizza. We are trying a news recipe. Our usual recipe came from an Italian family recipe and used baking soda instead of yeast. This new one uses yeast. The dough is stickier than the old recipe. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Any opinions on baking soda or yeast?

Here’s the finished product with the news dog recipe. The crust is nice and crispy, but the noodles is soft. The flavor is a little bland. Interesting.

As we walked this morning, we came to a patch of bamboo. It was very thick and large. There were also many birds sounds coming out of it. As soon as we went to investigate birds started backing away. I think they are herons. If you look in to picture you can see some before they flew further into the bamboo

Now we are working on vocabulary and sentence patterns. They hold a card up to their head and don’t look. They have to guess the item using the Sentence pattern. Then they change partners every five minutes.

Test time. I dislike giving too many test- but in Asia, it’s the way they do things. Most the parents really care about points and performance more than ability. This is why in some countries all students learn English and can understand some, but lack the ability to speak. My class tried to incorporate more speaking and practical use… but I still need to give written tests that students can show parents. Any suggestions?

Last class of the day is the most difficult. I think it’s because the teacher and students are tired. Another problem with this class is that the students will graduate elementary school this summer. So they like to have fun, which is fine, but sometimes they take it too far ;)

every spring students bring their umbrellas. Unfortunately, they forget to take to them home. Then the next day they bring another. They keep forgetting. We tell them to their names on them, but they forget. So we run out of room. That’s goes on until we march all the students out and hold up umbrellas one at a time and put a sticker with their name on it. We still will have a number of unclaimed umbrellas.

Today we stopped at a cooking store. It specializes in cooking ingredients and tools that are uncommon in regular stores. It’s always fun to look around. We will have a DIY to make custard and other pudding in our school, so this is a fun place to go.

Test time. The students are getting ready for the admissions test to junior high school so we have to push them harder. I wish there was a better way to train them. The Junior high school test is really hard and they have trick questions. We have to explain all the answers that they don’t get right. Then we have to retest.
