This is a Golden Apple snail. It’s an invasive species in Taiwan. It was imported to eat like escargot, but it had high levels of heavy metals. So they were dumped onto the water system. Now they are the bane of rice farmers. My show is a size 10us. So these are big.

Just took a morning walk with my wife and mother in law. We couldn’t walk too fast because she had a bad hip. Now she’s going to play a Chinese tile game with her friends. This is how she keeps her memories sharp.

This is a lucky date that student can use their reward points for. The lucky envelopes have cute little pictures. Depending on the picture they can get little candies or more reward points. I’d prefer not giving them candy, but it’s all we can afford.

The school bell s are coming. In five minutes there will be a wave of student running towards our little cram school. I have just enough time to say a prayer and drink a little green tea.

Here’s the first batch of year 1 & 2 students. First check temperatures, then a little exercise in the sun, and then wash our hands and go inside. They are so cute.

Now we’re are playing a game to answer questions. The boy with the chicken and a question and then calls on a different student to answer. If he can walk over to the called on student and touch his desk with the chicken, then they change to roles.

Now I explained their homework and they have ten minutes to start. If they have questions, they can ask. Then we can play a game and then they can go to do their elementary school homework. They all did a great job.

Now we are playing a reading game to help them practice. They roll a die and then have to read or choose a friend to read.

Now it’s the older kids turn for English class. Now they have to ask and answer questions. Then we use a magazine to study.

The little class has a test today on telling time. They have to remember the numbers and daily activities. I know some will do very well. There are two that I’m worried about.

We are have Mother’s Day celebration early because everyone works in the weekends. The food is all home grown and home cooked. No chemicals. No strangers. Farm to kitchen to stomach.

For Mother’s Day we paid for a professional for massage for my mothers in Law. One time every two weeks. It looks painful but she says it fine. I’m scared to try. I have tender feet. :)
