XRP in the past years has always performed behind ETH, not including Tether it was the third biggest cryptocurrencie and many people saw the potential in Ripples project. The past few months have been troubling for the company, when prices started to spike XRP followed the trend and outperformed many coins but then the SEC putted a lawsuit on them claiming they have a security token being that illegal. The coin decreased in price in a very large dip, meantime the lawsuit started to be in favour of Ripple, according to the majority of people, and the price pumped again reaching the same value as before. In the meanwhile something happened, we started to see Polkadot, Cardano and more recently Binance Coin outperforming and we reach the point of today, XRP a stable Top 3 coin now is number 7 by market cap.. Is this a sign that the market is leaving XRP? Well it was always strange in my opinion a completelly centralized coin being so high in the market. Some people call it an elite coin and because of that they don't like the project.
My opinion is that, when i first started in this world of cryptocurrencies, i saw much value in this coin due to the reviews i read, but the more i learned the more i stayed away from it, doesn't feel right when you are pushing to a decentralized economy and having XRP on your portfolio, only if it is to take profit to invest in another coin. I think more and more people are seeing this and are getting away from it. The owners seem part of a social elite, nobody here wants the same guys to win in this world and leaving nothing for the majority of us.
I think a solution that is been talked in the XRP community for years, decentralize the coin by dropping the majority of them in the market, is the best solution and a solution that in the long term would give many returns to Ripple and the ecosystem they are creating.
This 7th place should be a wake up call for Ripple, many coins behind them have the potential to outperforming it and the case can be more serious that it is now, Stellar is outpacing Ripple.
