I can make read.cash work as intended + MORE

Read.cash has officially stopped paying out and the admins have ceased further development of the site. So, it's basically a ghost town right now whose days are arguably numbered.

I joined this site in December 2020, and have always thought that the business model is flawed and the project is unsustainable except the team implements some revenue-generating system.

Interestingly, I was confident that the team will monetise the website one way or another to support the charitable BCH donations from users and the main benefactor of the project, @MarcDeMesel.

Because, clearly no matter how rich you are, you can't keep giving away free money forever.

Sadly, I was wrong.

The team never implemented any revenue-generating plan and eventually, the benefactor(s) seems to have stopped funding this "charity", thus bringing the party to an inevitable end.

But I can turn things around if given the opportunity to take over the site.

Furthermore, we will continue to use BCH as the currency of the site in line with the original idea of using the site to promote and popularise Bitcoin Cash.

What's the plan? A brief outline of my plans for the site

  • I am a business and marketing guy, so I will get a trusted developer to work with and help with the development work and technical aspects of the site if the @vjaread.cash team have shifted their resources and focus elsewhere.

  • I will monetise the site or implement other revenue generation systems and then use a portion of the income to reward content creators and users on the platform.

  • Introduce new features and even a potential overhaul of the site's layout and design for a more modern and sleek feel.

Clearly, nothing too elaborate.

I can make this site work and be self-sustaining while keeping to its original idea of popularising BCH.

This is a quick draft. With your feedback, I can come up with something more detailed if the idea is welcomed by the @Read.Cash team.

What's the catch?

My personal goal and what gives me the most joy is to be able to have a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of as many people as I can during my time on earth.

"The need for achievement" is my greatest motivation and that's what's pushing me to seek this opportunity. Plus the success of the project will contribute to helping me achieve my financial and self-development goals as well.

I have no interest in taking full ownership of the project (but I'm open to that as well) as I have one I am working on myself, but I can take over its management and make it successful. If possible, implement it along the same idea and plans I have drafted for CryptoSorted.Info (my crypto media project).

Furthermore, I do not require any funding from the team or anyone as we can kick things off from where we are right now.

However, if required, we may attempt to raise money via a flipstarter or private investors to accelerate development and growth.

Conclusion

I strongly believe that read.cash can be a self-sustaining and successful crypto media site with the right management and plans through which we can further enhance the BCH economy.

And I am willing to take on the responsibility of making it into what it can be if given the opportunity by the @Read.Cashteam.

I will also appreciate your feedback on this proposal in the comments section below. Thank you.

and the admins have ceased further development of the site.

I am not sure about that. I think they are looking closely at what is happening here.

It will be interesting to see if you receive any feedback or input from the "powers that be." I still continue to think that the site has a future with the right ideas, and a better plan in place. Even when it came to Rusty, I thought it needed to be more refined in the way that it offered rewards. I felt that if you had an algorithm that was able to recognize better content through upvotes, length of article, response rate and so on and so forth, with MAYBE a bit of personal reading from certain people to verify the results of the algorithm, bad players would have had a much harder time gaming the system and siphoning off valuable rewards that many others might have been more deserving of.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of the site going forward. I hope it is not dead forever and just heaving its final breaths right now. But of course no one really knows the answer to that.

As for the monetizing, I have always thought it strange that anyone would think it is a good idea to rely only a couple of "funders," rather than try to find a way to bring outside money in to fuel the operation.

Hell, that would have been a way to literally bring in fiat and turn it into BCH. In any event, that's just my two cents worth.

Have you reach out to Simon regarding this? I think you can message the noise.app handle to raise your ideas.. your plans seems cool and if it happens at least the site will be alive again..
