Price Movement: Bitcoin didn't even move much over the holiday weekend in the United States, as market activity was low.

Bitcoin began the week with a loss below $46,000 on Monday morning, before rallying into the Christmas weekend, and has been trading between $48,000 and $52,000 since Tuesday.

After a "Santa surge" on Friday, Bitcoin, the most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization, fell below $50,000. Bitcoin has regained ground and was hovering around $50,800 at the time of writing.

In the United Kingdom, crypto trading activity was mainly quiet on Christmas Day and the day after, Boxing Day. The trading volume of bitcoin on the big controlled exchanges was minimal.

Ether and other promising resource cryptocurrencies saw minimal movement over the weekend, with ether trading at around $4,070 at the time of publication, down substantially from Friday's surge to above $4,100. In the other hand, Polkadot (DOT) was one of the top gainers over the weekend, gaining over 8% in the last 24 hours but still being down from its 30-day high.
