Philippines as we all know is a very loving and caring country. A country of peace , serenity and prosperity, a country we call home , or so we thought it was.

It was quite sometime now since somebody talk about this, since somebody stood up for us. I know I was never a famous speaker but please hear me out .This might hit your interest.

You, me , our teacher I guess everybody in this circle we call health workers,  is dreaming that one day we could aid someone in pain without thinking if we could do it right because we already believed in ourselves that we could, it's like " Hey I studied hard ,played it hard and paid it hard". Yes , indeed we health worker aspirants are paying that high just to graduate in hope of finding good future, mutually for us and for our future patients. But if we look around , and try to search for our seniors in this field. Can you find one? If there is one ,are you sure he or she will be staying here in country for good?

Ladies and gentlement, what I'm trying to emphasize here is that we health workers or so I say aspirant health workers are chained with the word "migration".  Many of us chooses to go abroad and serve other countries the specialties we ought to offer to our fellow country men. I mean it's not bad nor good either. Let me give you a quick glance at facts we should really have to see...

According to statistical research published by Martha Jean Sanchez last March 31, 2021  at statista.com . And I qoute...

"As of April 2020, there were ten doctors per 10,000 population in national capital region of the Philippines. In comparison,  there were only 0.8 doctors per 10,000 inhabitants in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim mindanao"

Hearing this , does this ring something in your mind?... Yes ,it is... And if  this issue is not taken care of properly, death rate will keep on rising, as of this year death rate in the Philippines rise up to 1.160% compared to last year according to macrotrends.net historical death rate data. This figures may seem a a bit low but this means ,thousands, thousands of lives are at stake every day fighting there own battles of diseases which we could have had helped but many of us chooses to go outside the country.

This  issue is one of the many  health care problems we are dealing in our country. I am saying all of this not to mock or  have an arguement with anybody but this is a calling to you my fellow aspiring health workers, my fellow country men to serve the motherland and prosper with it.

Philippines as we all know is very loving and caring country. A country of peace , serenity and prosperity, a country we all call home, a country where everyone of us should belong.
