NFTOPIA is coming

0 30

Where do I start if you didn't know Dygycon is dead the last event that happened was in November which was Splinterlands last time to sponsor it but all is not lost as out of the ash's something amazing has come from it a new event thanks to Waffles Kitty , Consumer Break and Tony @ Cyber Vandals. I chatted to Consumer Break as he is one the creators and chatted to Drawn company as an artist featuring in it

How did you guys come up with bringing Dygycon back to life as NFTopia?

We were at last DYGYCON 12 when I did my first train of live stream events, where I scheduled booth events back to back all weekend and then we raided each one with a group. This was very successful and a blast with the community, and everyone was sad to hear that there will not be any more DYGYCON. During that weekend in November, numerous creators said they would sponsor a booth if we came together as a community to do another convention using the Inverse platform, including TonyTrip and I. Waffles Kitty was on board right away and made the website. At the end of the year TonyTrip got more involved to help fund and organize, while I took over the event organizing and NFT collection for the convention. Now we're lined up to do back to back events again all weekend long.

Where did the name NFTopia come from?

We had a Discord and invited a lot of people from DYGYCON, and started brainstorming new names in a channel (couldn't keep the name because it is owned by Splinterlands). There were many suggestions. After some weeks, Waffles Kitty put all the suggestions in a private poll and everyone voted for a week. NFTopia was the winner by a landslide.

What can we expect at Nftopia?

You can expect the same experience from past DYGYCON and more. Attendees can enter for free from a web browser, customize their avatar (all the same items from the past), and communicate with others using text/voice/cam. We have a fully stacked event schedule with an event every hour at different booths Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I will be going to every event, and they will all be live streamed on Twitch somewhere. There will also be a 1hr Bountyblok giveaway at every event, and we'll post hourly on Twitter where the event and stream is. Events include AMAs, presentations, games, stream giveaways, DJ parties, fishing hangout, and more. There are 5 Halls filled with booths from many awesome projects, each hosting any content they want on their booths. There is a SWAG booth where attendees can sign up to receive free NFTs. There's a scavenger hunt and ways to win Achievement Badge NFTs from doing things like fishing, dancing, climbing, and collecting stars - as well as a free POAP NFT to all attendees. There is a Puzzle Piece Hunt where various booths are selling a puzzle piece jigsaw drop, and attendees that collect them all blend to a Legendary Puzzle Wizard NFT. As always, anyone is welcome to just hang out at booths with WAX & Web3 communities in the metaverse and add personality to the friends that we usually just chat with in text.

Wow 5 halls some amount how many artists are featuring?

Currently about 40 projects but there are still more signing up today too, anyone is welcome to get a booth for $50.

Are they all from Wax?

They're almost all WAX, but some Polygon/ETH/HIVE too as well as a couple YouTube channels and streamers/merch brands.

Oh nice a lot different blockchains being represented . Will there be a main hall with Ama with artists?

The event schedule includes many different projects and artists in their booths throughout all 5 Halls, which all include some AMA and meet & greet, you can see the lineup on the Inverse website at https://inverse.app/events/6377c3f683796da5f95f7e59

How often you guys hoping to hold this events?

Waffles Kitty would like to keep it going the same as it's been with every two months, but it depends on sponsors too to fund the platform. Also every two months is a bit much for a lot of people, and may be every 3 or 4 months. We'll see.

And if some would like to sponsor how do they get in touch?

They can see great info at https://www.nftopia.weebly.com/sponsor including an Event Deck with visuals and offerings. There is an option to buy a $50 Small Booth there via online checkout, or can send in WAX. Then they'll just need to join the Discord and mention the project name and we'll assign a Role for communication and booth setup. There are also Large Booths available for $500, which include a Moderator Role to ping announcements, photo booth logo, banner and promotion, branded hangout areas, and detailed analytics.

Do you look for sponsors of halls as well?

Yes, a branded Hall is also part of the Large Booth $500 option as well, but at this point we don't anticipate any new Halls opening for this con.

Is there a list of artist who will be featuring?

There is a floor plan here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAFVU_xoJFY/Tap5Y4BGaR3KfamCDT9CkQ/view?utm_content=DAFVU_xoJFY&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=homepage_design_menu

What time does it launch?

It's already open for anyone to go in, has been all month and will continue to be until the next convention. The events start at 2pmUTC on Friday January 20th

How many visitors are hoping to have over the weekend?

Currently over 400 have registered. There's no telling until we get there, but it would be great to have over 1,000 by the end of the weekend, and really telling if we reached 1,400 which was the attendance of DYGYCON 12 last November.

Do you think the bear market will effect the attendance?

It might, more so if it was not bear market. But last DYGYCON 12 in November was the same way, and the WAX community turned up and had a blast and made the most out of a bad market - in fact the events and community bonding and giveaways put an ease to the bear and showed that WAX folks like the space and projects for what they are.

Anything else you would like to add?

I'm super stoked to be able to continue these conventions that I had such a blast at in the past. My project ConsumerBreak is a collab app, and this convention aligns with my goals tenfold and brings me joy to host AMA events for all the different booths. I hope that we can continue to grow in attendees and sponsors and become a regular Web3 convention for the community.

Thanks to Breakman giving me the details now here what an artist taking part and this is what he had to say .

How's things?

I'm good you

I cant complain you looking forward to tomorrow?

Yes I really am - its sort of make or break I have put the price up to a reasonable level ($1 a Pack) and I am keen to see if I can sell out at that price. From now on I will just do big drops at NFTopias so I piggy back off the hype and wont do much in-between. Have you read my article about the drop?

No not yet drop us a link is the bear market effecting your sales?

To hard to say as I have not dropped anything AAA and paid since November - which sold out! It has effected levels of interaction in the Discord and Twitter .Tomorrow is the test

Talking about tomorrow I thought Dygcon was finished but it has been rebranded and is back how you feeling about it?

It's going to be a great event - there are so many cool brands and projects engaged. You have to appreciate it is like starting from scratch though - but the team have done a fantastic job in making the event a reality. I think this event has more content than ever before and it definitely feels like a more slick and polished production.
I have hit the promo harder than I ever have to help out as much as I can to raise awareness whilst causing as much DC chaos as Karen possibly can. Moving forward I am going to suggest we resurrect DYGYCON School for the Artists Alley so we can turn all that knowledge into learning for new artists and brands!

Will you be doing AMA or talking?

No not this time - I will be on the stand between 8pm - 12am UTC on Friday and Saturday and maybe host an AMA of sorts

Why should people visit?

I think they should just take time to com and explore - the market is the market at the minute but we have so much variety and creativity on the WAX Blockchain people should come experience all we have to offer and most of all its going to be fun.
