Hey how's things ?

Hey doing good. how are you?

Cant complain finished up work for a week . Do anything exciting today ?

Nice. pretty quiet morning here around the house, at the office now checking a few end of the year things off .

Ah so your office man per day an artist by night ?

Yea, something like that. I do freelance GIS/carto work but have an office to get a bit of space between work and home. so no bosses to avoid but myself....heh but a fair amount of time at the desk and my wife is really more the artist than I am I would say but I do give it a go .

When did you discover NFTs ?

Back in march of this year is when I first started really exploring it. Since I make maps for a living the Upland game seemed to make sense to me so I started there.

What led you to look into were you already in the crypto world ?

Yea, I started in crypto back in 2017 after hearing about it for a few years from a good friend. He was mining bitcoin, so I ended up buying a miner with my boss at the time and running it at the office so I rode that wave and tried to keep up with the space, but family happened in the meantime but thought the early ETH smart contract stuff was really interesting. so when NFTs kept coming up again and again I knew I had to look into it . So I checked out upland, fell into their discord and started learning about the wax space at the same time .

What made you do the project on wax ?

I'd say cost and the ease of creation at the time. I also started in the space by collecting so it seemed like the place to also try and create. The idea of packs and collections made sense to me, and I've always enjoyed the tech side of things so figured it was worth exploring. Which is kind of a main theme with what has become the collection. Exploring the wax and NFT space .

So explain the idea behind your project ?

Kingsbury Family NFT - A family creating art and exploring the NFT space together. My wife is the more traditional artist and I thought it was a good place to try and get exposure for her work. So it really started there, but I also dabble in art and photography so I thought we'd try together, then all of a sudden my son wants to jump in . So it's really creating and exploring the wax space as a family. A lot of the early part of our collection was when Nefty was first creating their UI, and creating packs was brand new. It was pretty exciting learning about all the possibilities.

And were is the project going ?

We're continuing to learn and grow. My son has some pretty fun ideas in store for the next year, so he's busy with concept art on a few things. My wife is continuing to work on her protect the wild series, focusing on threatened and endangered animals. She also has a few limited sets in mind that we may release as packs early to middle next year.

Some of my goals involve a bit more learning so I'm currently taking a wax blockchain class and working towards a few fun ideas. Also continuing the spaced vibes altered landscape work . Some future projects maybe better suited to their own collections but at this point we're really just enjoying the space and the ability to create and get our work out to a larger audience. That later part I owe a lot of credit to the Online Inn for - Falling into that discord was a great twist of fate.

How many NFTs have you created ?

Looks like just shy of 20000 mints I'd have to check on templates. The 2 pack projects I did with my son generated quite a few of those. My wife's work is done in much lower numbers. Here's the collection book:

https://wax.atomichub.io/tools/book/kingsburynft

Ah how many templates would you say ?

Looks to be around 140 or so the collection book helps sort the sub collections out a bit more

When did you drop your first NFT ?

23/04/2021

https://wax.atomichub.io/explorer/asset/1099528177312

Well, that was the first mint. First drop was probably a few days later but was just a free drop to the upland/NFT channel and a couple other discords that's how I ended up meeting frazel and ending up over at the Online Inn . Looks like I did that drop the same day

https://wax.atomichub.io/explorer/asset/1099528188354

This was the first drop I did

Ah that's quite cool looking how did the community react ?

I got good enough feedback to keep going, and the drop was claimed in short order. I ended up listing a couple pieces that day and sold one shortly after, so it was encouraging. The buyer ended up being Frazel not long after I found my way to the Inn

Ah so you said your wife creates does she create on your account ?

Yea, my wife creates under the Kalah schema. And my son's work is the green horse schemas. A family collection . She may eventually explore putting her work out under a different collection or chain possibly, but initially we though exploring the space together was a good place to start. And a good way for me to nudge her into the space

So you all have your own scheme ?

My work has been under the Spaced Vibes schema, which is my altered photography project. I also create under the 'tk doodle art' schema which is more explorative animation and pixel art. And since I was enjoying pixel art creation so much I recently put out the halloween21 collection. So yea, we all have our own to keep things somewhat organized. But very soon we'll be dropping a small family holiday pack and may muck that up a little bit...heh but I'll just make a fresh schema I imagine

What is your favourite NFT to create ?

Favourite type to create? or favourite I have created? Usually I'd say it's the next one, or the idea I'm having.

You created !!!

But I was also fairly proud of the AR work I figured out. It's not widely known that 3d models can be put on the wax blockchain .

https://www.nfthive.io/asset/1099568856718

So check out the 2nd tab in this AH doesn't support viewing 3d models at the moment but nfthive does might take a moment to load in. If you do it on the phone you can bring the model in with your camera and place it in the room/scene and take pictures with it . So I'd say personally this one is my favourite as it originally came from a collab project with my son, and then I created the model as a challenge from him.

Love it . What about V.R ?

I'm certainly interested in it, but haven't delved in as much as I'd like. I think there's some really cool possibilities in that realm.

What is the process for you creating your NFTs ?

Of course it depends on the collection, as we're exploring a few different avenues, but for the space vibes collection I start with a location. I've loved and played with photography for years and years, so altered landscapes was something I've been wanting to explore. Lately I've been using the drone more in my photography, and some of these landscapes really fit for the project. After selecting my location/image I use some post processing and work on the computer with a handful of programs to create the digital alterations.

Kalah's work in this space has been more traditional watercolour and acrylic that we've scanned or photographed, some being digitally altered. Though lately she has been really enjoying exploring the pure digital side of things and using procreate on her tablet for a number of her recent pieces.

Green Horse has been a collaboration with my son. With season 1 & 2 being a bit different. Mainly, he creates the a number of different possible characters, sometimes with a bit of help/input from dad. From there we choose the characters and rarity styles to complete the set. Those two projects have been a lot of fun to do.

The TK doodle art and Halloween21 has mainly been created through pixel studio

How long do you usual take to create a NFT ?

The spaced vibes pieces can take a while just do to the nature of the photography. Usually I spend a day or afternoon out shooting photos, and if there's something that fits, I then spend an afternoon processing that. If I add a 'signature' blend, where I add a animated signature, that usually takes another session, as I like to do those by hand for each template instead of reusing a signature. So a few days of work spread out for those usually. Kalah's work spans from a few hours to weeks depending on the piece. The pixel and animation stuff I like to pick away at casually so hard to judge on those.

Have you done many collabs who was your favourite ?

There's a few things in the works, but so far just a handful of collabs. My favourite being the blends I did with Frazel. We did a small set of Green Horse x Food Monsters super blends that were really fun.

https://neftyblocks.com/c/kingsburynft/blends/super

And from there you could blend those characters with an animal breeds land to put them in scene .

https://neftyblocks.com/c/foodmonsters/blends/super

Chewey also did a really cool piece inspired by S1 of Green Horse and we put that out as a benefit for the Online Inn .

Who would your dream collab be ?

I'm really enamoured with the Roman Punks, so doing something with them would be pretty wild. Ultrarare would be pretty massive as well, as I love their work and collections.

Are you a NFT collector ?

I am. Collecting feels like an integral part of exploring this space for me. Plus there's some really cool projects. More everyday. The two projects I mentioned just now I also collect. I really love Ultrarare/horrors/comix and think they are doing some really cool stuff in the space. I also really love the Roman Punks project as I think it's very unique and has some really fun plans in the future. I also collect and enjoy Waxel Ninjas, as well as the other exclusive projects at the Online Inn. (A Lil Creation, Consonant Designs, Animal Breeds, Food Monsters, Demon Doodles)

What has been the best part of doing your project ?

I think making art and exploring this space as a family has been a pretty huge perk. Doing these projects together with my son and wife has really added meaning to the work. I also feel very fortunate to have fallen in with the Online Inn, as there is a great number of other creators and like-minded collectors there, and it really makes the wax space feel like there is a community beyond the marketplaces.

What's been hardest part of doing the project ?

Perhaps the time involved, or setting aside time for the projects. Life seems to ever increase in speed, and finding time to slow down to create can be a pretty big challenge.

Tell us something random about you ?

I'm really passionate about rock climbing / bouldering and primarily focus on new climbing development. Over the years I've established a few hundred boulder problems and have even been written up in a couple of climbing magazines/journals.

What you like to do to unwind ?

Gardening, walking the dog, playing games with the kiddo .

Where can the community keep up to date with you ?

The best place would be The Online Inn discord or our twitter

https://discord.gg/XNfWKXGt

https://twitter.com/KingsburyNFT

Where can we buy your NFTs ?

https://neftyblocks.com/c/kingsburynft

When is your next drop ?

We'll be dropping a fun holiday themed family pack in the next couple days, and Kalah will continue her Protect the Wild series come January. Updates on current happenings will be posted on the Discord.

Any chance of a competition or a drop for the readers

Of course!

Perfect IL keep that in mind before we finish up is there anything you would like to add or say to the readers ?
