So this artist is quite young on her journey in the wax world but hey I am a sucker for pixel artwork so her NFT's really appealed to me so lets meet her

So whats your name ?

My name is Ryya and I am the female artist behind CryptoSharks NFT

I have meet a lot of female artist in the NFT world which is great i have interview 3 but one who wanted to remain as Anonymous

Nice...usually I don‘t care to mention it but actually it becomes more clear every day that we are kind of invisible in this space . People addressing me on twitter or telegram channels etc. are automatically assuming that you are male if you are into NFT / crypto . So its usually bro/homie/guys . So I want to do my part for a little bit of female artist visibility . And its not about sex and nft...its that it seems that people still think if you like tech/crypto/nft you must be a man because usually woman don‘t like that stuff and thats oldfashioned thinking

I agree sex shouldn't matter if your NFT are good your sex shouldnt be matter once you have talent .

Thats why I usually don‘t mention being female but it starts to bother me when people automatically address you as homie/bro or any other male equivalent of name

But there is actually a lot of us 😊

So is this your full time job or what is ?

No I wish it would be...I work a regular 8-9 hours job mon-fri . I studied technical design and am specialized in packaging design and I have doing packaging for companies like sennheiser...for example I did a wide range of their gaming headset packaging a couple years ago .

So you package design let me guess you design on mac ?

Yes in the agency we all use macs . But I don‘t at home...I create everything around CryptoSharks on an iPad with procreate and a custom 1px brush but if I get a new mac soon I may create even some 3D ones

iPad is still apple lol I remeber my dad using quark but thats me showing my age

Yes a 3D shark maybe in the future or as a collab we will see . I am just at the very beginning with CryptoSharks and there is much more to come and of course this project will grow together with the community

I think the community drive the artists which is great

Yes and it is absolutely wonderful how welcoming and supporting everyone is . Love it!

I know I am loving doing interview the artist to promote them as they dont get the credit enough

Yes I read your last interview with cyberporn...very interesting to get to know the artists a bit more

Yes from early on usually I don‘t do pixel art but I love it

What made you get into NFT's ?

CryptoSharks actually started as a childrens comic book about crypto . But I never realized the project

It reminds me of old consoles from the 90s

And then I found out about NFT's and started to mint my surreal art on the Ethereum blockchain but the fees are the artist and the collectors enemy

And then I got a tip to look at wax and Atomichub grabbed my old CryptoSharks stuff and started creating on wax maybe in the future I can see it being realized because I still think its an important thing educating about crypto in a fun way there is not much around and I think its time for it to become really accessible to the general population . But we may see a CryptoSharks Comic Style Special or Series in the future...I‘ll keep that in mind

Oh think that is missing to can help kids realize that technology is more than tinder Spotify and Facebook I think crypto is bigger than just bitcoin so many better projects and i think kids need to learn about blockchain technology

Yes totally...its still a niche . But I think we will soon see a huge hype around nft commodity collectibles like we see on wax/atomichub with more artists and huge companies coming and of course a lot more media and the next generation will hopefully just grow into it and in a few years we will have our cloths minted on the blockchain with addresses on them that you can check online for additional information etc

Something like a QR code

Maybe something like that

Hidden stuff related to scarcity and special editions and so on Nft's will be soon more than art, collectibles etc. ...the gaming NFT boom hasn‘t even started yet and that will be huge

Oh everyone likes a limited edition thats what make mint 1 the most valuable in NFT's

And I think this year will be massive for NFT and the artists

Yes and like a things crypto related there will be a down side after a hype as well Just hodl 😊

There will be ups and downs . Of course what goes up must come down but lets just enjoy it and of course hodl

Don‘t care to much about it and just do what you enjoy

So other than wax what crypto do hodl

A few . I like the underdogs tbh . Stuff like holochain, btt, stmx, chz

No financial advice but I‘d say a lot of the NFT related ones are a good buy and eth alternatives Wax for example is doing really good

So how long you making NFT's either on eth or on the wax network ?

Not that long...I started this year in January . And CryptoSharks is now just ~12 days old

Really so is quite new have anyone asked to Collab with you yet

So I think for such a small project from one person that's pretty great! And I hope we can grow a lot more . Yes a got a couple requests and they are all very interesting I can tell you that I‘d really be looking forward to do a dungeon CryptoSharks Collab with endlessloots...we were talking about that

Oh interesting IL bet you will get more requests once people see your open to Collab's

And a mosaicstamp Collab awesome collectibles btw. Really liked their collab with peterjgraham

Mosaic is gent I interviewed him a while back

But there are some many great ones! It‘s hard to keep track of all the amazing projects on wax/atomic and if I‘d do a 3D shark I would want a Collab with CreekDrops

So who would be your favourite artist ? Why ?

On wax/atomic? Or NFT in general? In general I like ofc Beeple...because of the amazing composings ...and I absolutely adore Fewocious Weird colorful vivid imagination . On wax I am collecting or just started collecting btco because I love the art style and reference to the bitcoin story

And what would be your favourite NFT you hold can we hav a pic ?

And I just discovered writer ... and am intrigued with all the stuff they are putting together

That is the one I got today from secondary market because I missed writer before

How many collections or series would you like to make in the shark series ?

There is no fixed number . I‘ll just create and see where it leads me . And primarily I create because I enjoy

And its awesome to have a collectors base who really enjoy and appreciate them . CryptoSharks is an underdog

I think pixel artwork is coming back

But you never know...the coin can flip fast and then...to the moon 🚀

What made you get into crypto in the first place ?

Oh I actually started with crypto when btc was so low it was actually given out as donation . And no I didn‘t get on the train then...I wish . It was the early years of twitch

Maybe even justin.tv then I got into doge and then it went on

I remember justin.tv used that streaming footballl

I did a couple years ago...fortnite 😊 I am coming from a gaming

Do you still game ?

Like I said I am not 20 anymore And started a gaming career when Facebook wasn't even around in counterstrike

I was on an all female team in early esl

Well il give you a laugh my first console was Sega master system

And we thought it was huge back then that our pcs and internet was paid by sponsors

Did you's win much ?

But nothing compared to now

We weren‘t that bad but no championships

Awh I still get on and play a bit of cod on my ps5 at least once a week

I lost interest in cs more and more the more wow grew

Today I am not gaming much...sometimes on the consoles, but ATM I am getting into alien.worlds and rplanet

I really only use rplanet for staking

And I want to check niftywizards and uplift but I don‘t know where to start there yet and Sega master system was amazing

My first PC don‘t laugh...was a C64 with a Catasette

I dnt have enough hours in day sadly to be playing all the NFT games which I love I remember the c64 the load times oh god

My parents were huge tech fans so I had that one when I was 3 later I turned to amiga And I remember the amiga/atari battle between all My friends

I want to get my 4 year old a switch

Maybe that is where my love for pixel art comes from

I would say so

Manian mansion, zak mckraken . Those were my favorite games during this time . And of course monkey island. Always like the adventures

Yes! And isn‘t there a remake?

Think there was at least 2 !

And the first online game I played for a very long time was ultima online Next to legends of kesmai and magestorm on AOL back them

I think mine was quake or wolfenstein

But yes 15 years of ultima online . Oh Wolfenstein . Never really got into it . But yes quake . Good old times

I will never forget the modem sound 😂

What advice do u have for artist trying to get into nft design ?

Keep it small at the beginning...grow a community and grow with your community . And always enjoy what you are doing...don‘t follow trends just because you think it is what people want . People will see and know if its authentic

What hobbies do you have and what you like to do for fun ?

Oh a lot and now enough time... I enjoy riding, squash, art of course, not so much gaming anymore because I lack the time but still it is one of my hobbies I‘d consider crypto a hobby too

Crypto is a lifestyle
