Meet the Artist behind Cosmic Alien
This one was a very easy one for me to do as I have been a member of her discord for the last couple of months and have seen her work first hand and I finally got to question the artist behind the project and this what they had to say .
Hey .
Hi .
How you today ?
Doing great, been getting a lot of snow here in Vancouver BC. How are you?
Oh nice its just freezing here no snow sadly I am great ?
Here's hoping for warmer weather soon!
Ah I like snow . Did you get up to much today ?
Well, the truth be told. I've been spending some time in Immersys exploring this morning. It's a mining and crafting game on the Wax Blockchain.
No work on your NFTs ?
Oh, yes, I'll be getting my creative flow going soon. Sometimes it's good to take breaks and explore. I find it helps bring inspiration and ideas. Being in Immersys recently also connects me with other Waxlonians! In fact it's where I met BakerBoy who is involved with Virus Busters. He's one of the many Stellar Beings. On the Mothership.
I know Bakerboy I chatted to him about his cool project. So how did you get involved in NFTs ?
It all started with an ad about Bitcoin that I observed while playing a game on my phone. It piqued my interest in that it's something everyone has access to and I've always been curious about the future of gaming... After getting my first BTC on December 31, 2020, it's led me to explore the blackhole of the CryptoVerse and subsequently to NFTS...
My first NFT was purchased on Rarible via the Ethereum chain. I collected some other pieces but then discovered right away that it was becoming too expensive with the GAS fees! I was curious as a creative how one could get involved in a supportive community of artists and collectors and stumbled upon the WAX Blockchain while learning from the pros via YT.
And when did you decide to create your own project ?
As soon as I started collecting in February 2021. However, it took some time and research to figure out #1 what I wanted to create and #2 the best platform as well as working on building a community which is really the most important aspect of becoming a NFT creator in this alien's opinion.
What made you pick WAX ?
Wow, that's a really great question!
I try .
As soon as I began collecting NFTs on WAX I immediately was impressed by the speed of transactions and no fees! Yeah, there's CPU for transactions, but staking CPU gets you rewards while helping the network thrive and you can get it back, so it's a win-win! Once I dove deeper into into collecting and following other Waxlonians, it was obvious the WAX Community is strong and extremely supportive. As a long-time PC gamer, I also became curious about the games on WAX! There are so many projects now on WAX from when the MotherShip first landed, it's really my favorite place in the Metaverse and looking forward to it's future!
What is the idea behind the project ?
Brace Yourself! This may take me a little moment to answer...
No worries .
I've always been curious about conspiracy theories and sci-fi, especially when it comes to extraterrestrial beings and the possibility of other life-forms on other planets in the galaxy. To think we're alone in this Universe is absurd! After many failed experiments, this Being was dabbling on the tablet exploring some tools and just happened to stumble upon a tool in Ibis Paint that was very CURIOUS!...as I began creating these abstract drawings the inspiration hit me! ALIENSIGNALS! It was like a BIG AH-HA moment.
The collection itself is unique in that it's not really about the art, it's about the message in the art. Some Signals are meant to be inspirational while others may be quite controversial. We are living in some interesting times. At the age of 55, there's been quite an experience of changes recognized in how we live and our humanity...
Oh so there will be controversial NFTs interesting ?
Yes! I'm currently working on one right now and have been sharing some ideas on the MotherShip! However, you need a Touring Pass to gain access to secrets from the AlienSignals Lab! Here's a little peek!
When did you drop your first NFT ?
The first NFT was dropped sometime at the end of July 2021. It was the Touring Pass promo. A ticket to board the MotherShip Discord server where there are special channels for those who support this alien. Since it's release there have been many giveaways of many NFTs & WAXP only available to the Stellar Beings, the role given to all active pass holders.
How did the community react
Amazingly! There has been so much support. It seems like the reaction went from 0 - 60 lightyears in no time at all! Once the Mothership's teleport was opened more and more Stellar Beings have been finding their way! It's really exciting and I'm definitely humbled by the response from my friendly Waxlonians! I also thank you, my friend, for all of your contributions! You've uncovered some amazing artists that I would have only known about from your dedicated posts at Crackers Corner!
No problem . What is the process of creating your NFTs ?
Ohhhhhh! Now, we're getting into some alien sacred code. The process of creating for me starts out with journaling thoughts. The next step would be taking those thoughts and transforming them into an abstract vision using various colors and brush strokes to convey a vibration or signal. From there it gets transformed by adding the message. These components typically will make up the wavelengths that can then be blended into an animated remote. There are generally some characters involved in delivering the message which appear on the animated screen. The most recent AlienSignal is all about having the courage to be yourself. I used various programs, but Krita mainly for creating each of the animated frames which takes a shipload of layers to make.
How long does a NFT take to create ?
It usually requires several weeks to create one full signal, partly due to this being involved part time and well, I'm an OLD alien! This year it's my goal to produce more and eventually venture into Augmented Reality.
Sounds good. What's has been your favorite to create ?
My favorite NFTs to create would be a tie between the DuckButt Shuffle and special remote for Carrion, who have been an early supporters of this little experiment. My absolute favorite parts to make are the bits that activate the remote, finger, duck foot, skelly hand. For the Be Brave remote, it was fun to make my own hero Ironman and his robotic finger. So I'd have to say it's definitely the remote I enjoy creating the most, it's where it all comes together.
[that finger has never been seen in full view]
Awh you have a few . Have you done many collabs ?
Apart from the special remotes where I collaborated a little with Tidbyts & Carrion I'm a huge fan of Leviated Labs and will be working on a collab piece this year. I just have to do my part in transforming that fun and inspirational emodicon or smiley! I also had some convo with CryptoSwatch who I would enjoy collabing with this year as well!
So you have a few lined up . Who is your favorite NFT artist ?
Wow! That's really a hard one to answer cause this alien has too many favorites..
Ok Il let you away with it .
Now, hold the tractor beam!... I've got an answer for you because it would be unalien of me not to mention my favs!
ByrontheArtist has to be one of my favorites, his dedication and pure talent in drawing has me jaw-dropping on a daily basis. Byron has created fun games with his art that is just so curious! Who wouldn't want a Zickle Army by their side? Aliens love Zickles! My other most favorite project of all time is DUCKBUTTs. The fact is they're the best alternative PFP project & it delivers such an amazing amount of GIVING it has this Being completely FLOWN away. The support of both these individuals has been what has kept me going, although at a more snailien's pace.
One of my favorite mottos is "Slow & Steady Wins the Race". - Aesop
What has been the best part of your project ?
The Best part of my project has been discovering what I am able to create and how many Waxlonians are willing to be Abducted aboard the MotherShip!
What has been the hardest part of your project ?
Honestly, the hardest part has been all of the trials and research that goes into just minting an NFT. If it weren't for early adopters like Crypto Stache to help guide through some of the tech, I probably wouldn't be here. Tin Foil Hats off to everyone in this space helping each other!
Also to all of the great Developers, like Nefty Blocks! OMG! They are making it so much easier for everyone to dive into this great space!
Total agree . What will you have the next drop out ?
Well, I just recently dropped a Commemorative NFT to all of the Stellar Beings aboard the Mothership. Aliens love tradition so it will likely become an annual event, each one better than the last! The very next drop will be the next wavelength which will be a component needed for the full-featured animated remote of a controversial nature. All I can say is it's COMING SOON...STAY TUNED!
What your family think of your project ?
Well, unfortunately, they've passed on to the other side. I'm certain they would have been proud...I was blessed with great parents, just a bit short-lived. My friends, however, they think I'm absolutely NUTZ!
Have you brought any into the wax world ?
Oh, yes! I've finally convinced my greatest friend to become a Waxlonian. He's been collecting since March or April last year and was happy he got into WAX.
What you like to do to unwind ?
My favorite thing to do to unwind is melt glass into Cosmic Jellyfish.
Oh cool tell us a random fact about you ?
Fact: I'm female. I always get a big kick out of being called BRO, DUDE or MAN in this space.
Ha ha ha . What is the long term plan for the project ?
Long term plan is to continue building community. All Waxlonians are welcome aboard the Mothership! Ultimately, I'd like to dabble with Augmented Reality by creating a full-featured space that you can view from your phone anywhere in the world while leaving a solid message behind that has no borders. If I can complete that expedition it will be well worth the Journey!
That will be the final AlienSignal...however long it takes.....
Something even more random....wanna see my bulby finger?
Love your finger lol. Where can we keep up with the project ?
The best place really is on the MotherShip via Discord! The next best option is in the Twitterverse.
Discord: https://discord.gg/rMH6zsp38P

Any chance of a competition for the readers ?
Ooooohhhh, Aliens love competition! What would you suggest, my friend?
What shall we dooooo?
I always let the artist decide ......
Hmmmmm....How about.... Anyone who successfully teleports and becomes Abducted on the MotherShip by Jan 13 at 4:20pm Pacific Time will be entered into a giveaway to receive a 1/1 special animated NFT for this competition!
Sweet . Before we finish up is there anything you would like to say or add for the readers
