Coin Fugazi Podcast 10 is a discussion with Bloomberg journalist Matthew Leising about his new book, Out of the Ether: The Amazing Story of Ethereum and the $55 Million Heist that Almost Destroyed it All. It's a thrilling hunt to unearth infamous DAO hackers, and readers are taken on a journey through the Ethereum ecosystem and its many colorful personalities. Out of the Ether is cinematic, reading like fiction at times (it's not), and Leising allows us to follow along as he tracks down leads.

SHOW NOTES

Out of the Ether: The Amazing Story of Ethereum and the $55 Million Heist that Almost Destroyed It All by Matthew Leising, published by Wiley, is now available everywhere books are sold.

Leising covers market structure out at Bloomberg, and has for the last few years been a go-to analyst of blockchain and cryptocurrencies for the outlet.

His seminal article on the Ethereum Decentralized, Autonomous Organization, or DAO, hack, titled, The Ether Thief, documented the drama almost a year later in 2017 as the summer of 2016 dust was beginning to settle.

A combination of dogged, gumshoe reporting, and a flair for literary suspense, made the reader of that first deep dive article want more, a lot more.

Leising is here to talk about what is now a full-fledged book, a grand look at the culture of Ethereum.
