Is there any cause of evilness in this world? Does humanity is already sinful? Do you believe that humans are born with pure heart and clean conscience? When we heard the word evil, the first things comes in our mind is devils who lurking in hell and some of them are spreading evilness in this world. Some people believed that people became evil because of devil doing. Before we jump to the main topic, let's define first the word evil, based on catholic belief since the beginning there is always balance between good and evil. In fact, there is always a war between good and evil, we can see that good always win but we can't abide the fact that evilness is waiting for its chance to take revenge. Evilness taking its action to manipulate every life form in order to dominate the lightness. I'm too much affected by movies and the series Supernatural haha but somehow it maybe a fact.
There are different definition of evilness but im sure in one thing that its main target is humanity. As we go back to the question earlier, does humanity is already sinful? According to Holy Bible, God created Adam and Eve pure and innocent, they live in a paradise happily and can live in immortal life but everything changed when they disobeyed the order not to eat the apple. Adam and Eve brought to temptation to eat the apple without knowing that it is planned by Satan. From that moment God sent away Adam and Eve, they will no longer acquired immortal life and forbidden to enter in paradise of God. That's the start of human selfishness, humans became greedy and was influenced by devils to do bad things. Based on Bible, during the time that Christ was not born, humans already engage in evil doings like prostitution, war, killing, manipulating people and worst praising other Gods more than the creator.
God saw this actions and he can no longer endure the evilness of humans. God decide to wipe out humanity using non stop floods but God tasked Noah to create an ark that could his family and animals. From that moment, it is start of new beginning but humanities evilness didn't stopped. The war never stopped and prostitution still exist. There are good people in Bible who fought to evil but no one can break the balance. Until today, evilness still exist, it is very hard to recognize if people is good or bad because they have the ability to hide their true self. Everyone of us had evil, we are just hiding it and only our self knew our evilness. Do you believe that humans are born with clean heart and pure conscience? For me, I believe that humans are born with pure heart because we can witness it in an infant or a young boy or girl that has pure smile on their faces. Childrens are proof that humans have clean conscience. So why people becomes evil? There are reasons why people becomes evil, this reasons are common in society, is it devil doing?
Societal Pressure
One the example of this is a boy living in unhealthy environment in which people surrounds him are abusive and doing bad things. The boy is in learning stage in which he will gain knowledge based on his surroundings. What he saw is what he will do. If he saw that boy's father hurting his mother, it will inflict in his mind that he will become the same as his father. Due to bad people surrounding him, he will learn to do evil things like committing crimes, stealing and other sinful crimes. As we can see from this example, we can conclude that people became good or evil based on his surroundings, if the person was lived in a normal life with healthy surroundings, he can be a good person and if the person lived in unhealthy environment, there's a possibility that that person will become evil also.
Poverty
This is the most cause of evilness in our society. People experienced poverty to the point that they need to commit crimes in order to gain money or buy food for the family. Can we considered it as a evil doing?, actually that was a broad topic and I don't want to start a debate for it but for me Poverty makes everyone evil. Due to poverty, people are doing crimes that can harm other people. they don't care about the outcome as long as they gain profit. Those people are born with evil intention but there are good people who engage in committing crimes in exchange of money. I feel pity for them, the intention was good but the way it act is not appropriate.
