# forgiving >>> forgetting
It took me a long time to understand what it means to forgive someone. It was hard for me to think the deeds that have been done to me like they never happened and they weren't part of me. I guess at that time, forgiveness meant to forget, to pretend like that something didn't happen, to make the hurt vanish magically from your life. But as I grow up that whole shitty thinking of me changed.
After a lot of soul searching I understood that forgiveness is to be able to live with the pain that others inflicted on you and it's not only about living with it but also letting it go and protecting your heart.
