Select a breed that you want to raise. For me I choose heritage breed like rhode island red and native chicken for starting.
You have to decide how many chicken you want to breed and raise it depend on your chicken coop and financial.
You have to research all the needs of your chicken as your local vet for assistance and for your starting materials (chicks or breeding materials) you should acquire it from accredited and trusted breeder for future purposes.
You have to prepare your brooder as I said brooder and a coop for the housing.
Sanitation and Nutrition it is the very important part of raising a chicken that sanitation it should be clean and comfortable for your chicken to prevent diseases and stress that can cause mortality while in nutrition it should be given to the chicken so that they will grow healthy and give you a more productive egg and meat.
