What Gen Z Think About Social Media

I can guarantee you that to every social media user you meet everyday, they will say that they can never last a day without having a scroll into the social media apps. And most older people wonder why.

Well, here is the truth:

Social media affected the way we, generation Z, live everyday. From the way we talk up to the way we socialize and stuff. We talk as if we are talking to our friends but we are actually describing ourselves. I have seen it. From the way I talk and whenever my friends talk to me, rather than explaining something, we are actually just justifying who we are. For example, a group of friends will talk about an apple. An apple is a fruit. Getting into deeper conversations, they will now start talking about how much apple do their bodies, like how they like them so much up to how it affects their personality. Then suddenly, they will talk about the Apple, which by the way is one flex about how rich and cool a person is. By that means, gen Z is actually more on how they look physically and mentally. Most people are bothered by how a person gets a scandal but at the end of the day, you will still see them liking his or her posts.

I am not judging all generation Z but the thing is we are judged just by few examples. It is like how men are judged for not being loyal just because of ones mistake. I know for a fact that men is having a hard time explaining theirselves but same goes to us.

Social media is our escape to what and who we really our. And it os embarrassing. It is so difficult to understand that we are more focused on not what we share or post but how the media will react to it. Yes we all have the freedom to express what we think but the responsibility and respect are the most important freedom.

I get sick and tired of people throwing themselves in front of the camera to gain followers and earn income. But when someone comments something wrong and negative towards you, you get angry and just tell them to shut up. Those people are just trying to make you a better person. Don’t post a naked pic if you don’t want to be criticized. You already know the consequences of it, still you did it.

What is your perspective on social media?
