It is with great pleasure that I bring to you all, the situation of COVID- 19 at the close of September 4, 2021 for the world and the American continent.
As can be seen in the following table shaded in red, there was a decrease in the number of infections compared to the previous days of this month where only 484,254 positive cases were reported for a cumulative total of 218 million 995,924 people who have been sickened with this pandemic for the whole year; Yesterday also shows a decrease that has a direct component with the number of infected, reporting only the death of 8,249 people for a cumulative number of deaths of 4,574,435 people in the whole process of COVID-19, the case fatality rate of this virus is 2.09%, that is, for every 100 people who get sick on average two of them develop the most critical stage of the disease and die.
The behavior of the pandemic on the American continent is very similar to its behavior worldwide, with a decrease in infections to half of the cases reported in previous days; only 126,179 infected persons were reported, for a total of 85,165,28 infected persons, of these, a total of 2,142,663 people have died. The case fatality rate is currently 2.52%, which is somewhat higher than in the world, which means that infected people in the Americas are more likely to die from this painful disease.
In summary, it is expected that the number of cases has been decreasing in the last few days and it is hoped that if strict compliance with all the measures being taken by the health authorities together with the governments of all the countries is maintained, the number of infections can be reduced even further.
