Olivia stood by Grace's bedroom door. She looked for signs of her disappearance but found nothing. Everything looked so clean and organized. It was hard to search for something. She called out Grace's name. There was no response. Megan came over to Olivia and asked what was wrong. Olivia told her that Grace went missing. Her eyes widened and she dropped her breakfast on the floor. Even though Megan is not that close with Grace, she still cared for her.
They known each other for about 3 years now. Olivia, Megan, and Grace all started hanging out together since freshman year. They were the coolest clique around. They kept up with the fashion trends and had people jealous of them. Girls tried to copy their every move. Boys flocked over them. Every Valentine's Day, the three of them would get tons of candy grams and roses delivered to them in class. It would pile up on top of their desk like a mountain. They would secretly write each other's names down and send each other those things but most of them were from boys in their class.
The two of them stood there clueless.
"Do you think she's dead?" Megan asked.
"OMG! Megan you know that you're my best friend right? But, don't ask stupid questions like that! I'm sure that Grace is fine. She's probably on an early morning jog or something." Olivia said while rolling her eyes.
Megan backed off and walked away. She went upstairs to her room she shared with Olivia. She undressed and changed into athletic clothing. She put on some socks and went down to grab a water bottle, a gym bag, and her phone with headphones. Then she tilted her head upside down to put her hair in a high ponytail. She also put on her new pairs of Nike shoes. She grabbed her favorite pink hat and left.
"MEGAN!!! Come back here!" Olivia screamed.
She slowly made her way towards the front door but it was too late. Megan ran off. She left her spilled breakfast on the ground.
"There's no maid here.... why should I be the one to clean up her mess? Ugh." Olivia complained.
Megan ran around the place keeping an eye out for Grace. She saw the same people from last time but no one who looked like Grace. It was rather hot out and she began sweating a little. The sweat ran down her face and she wiped it off with a towel from her gym bag. She stopped for a bit and drank some water. She sat on a bench under the shade. The heat made her feel sleepy. She dozed off on the bench without realizing until a strange man tapped her on her shoulder. She immediately woke up.
The man looked old. He had white hair and a long beard like Santa Claus. He was dressed in raggedy clothes that had holes everywhere and rips. It was unattractive. He smelled foul. Flies buzzed around him. Megan looked up while covering her nose. He stared at her. He didn't do anything. Megan felt weirded out and left. She left without looking back. Straight ahead, she saw a girl who looked exactly like Grace. She was a little short, skinny, pale, and had long flowing blonde hair. Megan ran up to her. It was Grace.
Except when Grace turned around, she was wearing a pair of huge black sunglasses that were almost covering her entire face. She looked creepy.
"Umm... Grace??? Is everything alright?" Megan asked.
Grace stood still. She dropped her hands at her side not saying a word. Megan removed her sunglasses and saw that Grace had two black eyes. Her eyes were super red and a bit damaged. Her perfect little nose was crooked, and her lip was all cut up... you could see part of her teeth. Megan froze. She fell onto the floor. She fainted. Grace put her shades back on and kept walking, leaving Megan on the ground. She wasn't that far away until she heard Olivia's voice.
"You bish!! Turn around Grace!!! Right now!"
Olivia called out.
Her bandage was gone and her leg looked better than ever. She ran up to Grace and slapped her face so hard.
"How dare you leave Megan there laying on the dirt! What kind of friend are you?"
Grace's sunglasses fell off and her deformed face was exposed. Olivia didn't even flinch. She seen worse.
"Look how ugly you are now? What did you do to yourself?" Olivia asked.
Grace could barely open her mouth, let alone speak. She held onto Olivia's hand and cried. Her tears landed on Olivia's skin. It felt warm. Olivia let go of Grace and yelled at her to pick up Megan. Grace carried Megan on her back. Olivia grabbed a hold of Megan's belongings. They started walking the other way back to their cabin. The sun was setting and the smell of burned wood and marshmallows filled the air. It was a little chilly so they hurried up.
Once they made it back to their place, Grace became unstable. She nearly let go of Megan. Olivia stood in shock. There was bloody handprints all over the windows, the door was wide open, shattered glass was on the ground, and a pool of red water flowed around the cabin. The smell was awful. It smelled like dead bodies... there was an animal mask floating in the water. The bloody words on one of the sliding glass door spelled out:
"DIE."
Megan finally woke up and screamed in horror when she saw the bloody scene. She screamed so loud that nearly threw up from coughing so much. Olivia continued standing there while Grace looked possessed. Her eyes turned all white and she was levitating. All of a sudden, Olivia and Megan both turned around and tried shaking Grace back to her senses. It was no use. Grace used a certain powerful force and pushed Olivia and Megan into the bloody water. Their skins were literally peeling off and you could hear it sizzle as if they were being cooked on a grill.
They screamed from the top of their lungs and cried nonstop. Grace removed them from the water and sobbed. She apologized to them and told them that she had no clue what happened... that she didn't feel like herself. Her face cleared up and turned back to normal. She no longer had black eyes, a cut up lip, or a broken nose. She looked like her old, normal self. Her tears healed Olivia and Megan. Their burnt, raw skin was new again. It was as soft as a baby's bottom. They were speechless. They looked at Grace like she was crazy. They couldn't believe what had happen. For the first time ever, they were both super afraid of Grace.
