Super villains are generally disable in movies. Some of them are physically and some are mentally or emotionally disabled irrespective of what motives they have which turned them bad. Similarly superheros also have mental and emotional disabilities.
But today we are going to talk about an antihero who has a severe disability. And that antihero is none other than our Deadpool a.k.a Wade Wilson.
We will talk about deadpool's personality we see in movies. I am not considering the personality of deadpool in comics because we have seen enough of him in the movies to judge his personality.
I watched both of his movies carefully and i concluded that he is Hyperkinetic Mutant. Yeah!! Its seems cool, but it is not. Its a bad thing. A type of disorder. This disorder generally known as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) or Hyperkinetic Disorder.
As in medical sciences every country has their own definitions, symptoms and treatments because every country has its own living standards.
Anyways I have seen multiple symptoms of Hyperkinetic Disorder in deadpool. For example:
Emotional Disturbance
Hyperactivity or Excessive Activity
Short Attention Span or Thoughts Problem.
Poor powers of concentration
Impulsiveness (which contains lack of control over your behavior)
Recklessness (Carelessness)
Breaking Rules
Irritability (which means getting frustrated or angry even on minor issues)
Explosiveness
More than normal excitement
Mood swing
Variability
Lack of perseverance (means firmed to do something but can't do. Going from one activity to another without completing previous activity)
Accident prone
Cognitive impairment (means learning new things. Facing problem in adopting new things.)
Boredom
Lack of concentration
Problems in decision making
Difficulty in maintaining relationships
Poor school work (which we can relate to his preparation and planning sort of things)
These all things often seen in children around the world. There are many reasons for this disorder. For example abusive childhood. Deadpool also has a military background, so may be he is PDSD (Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder). Because we have seen Jack and company had many experiments on him. That must a reason why he turned into a Hyperkinetic Mutant. High torture and experiments may changed his genetics.
Apart from all this discussion, is this thing curable ? Actually it depends. Every human is special which needs special attention. But in case of Deadpool, he is a mutant. So I don't think it is curable for him.
There are many symptoms of Hyperkinetic Disorder which I have not seen in Deadpool. May be they are yet to come because we have seen his different personality pattern in each movie.
In Deadpool 2, after the death of Vanessa he was so depressed that he tried multiple suicide attempt activities. But he knew that he wouldn't die. And at the end of movie while having device around her neck which nullify his mutant powers, he knew he will die but it took risk. It was a heroic moment but remember that he always wanted to die in that movie because the person he loved the most was no more.
As I was talking about the symptoms I have not seen in Deadpool are:
Low self-esteem
Less social behavior
Unpopular
Isolated
Repetition of words and actions
But it is not necessary for a Hyperkinetic Disabled person to have all these symptoms.
By the way I am not a science student. But may be some of you are. So you can comment down your views and opinion about this topic. Are you agree or not.?
You mentioned that for you he has no low self esteem ? I don't agree ! For me his self esteem is really bad ! When Vanessa dies he wants too because without him he has nothing lest in his life, the only thing he likes about him is Vanessa !
I loved you post !! I'm sure that the mental illness of deadpool is even worst in the comics and I would love to see a Deadpool movie seeing him with real huge mentaldisorder
