The movie The Wolf Of Wall Street is based on a real life Jordan Belfort's semi autobiography book of the same name.

This is the real Jordan Belfort. Original The Wolf Of Wall Street. Jordan Belfort published his book in 2007.

In 2007, when Leonardo DiCaprio read this book, he really liked Jordan's brutal honesty. In this book Jordan Belfort wrote his all aspects of life without being shy. Later in that year, Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros signed a deal of One Million Dollars with Jordan Belfort to make a movie on him.

Fact #09 Jordan's Inspiration To Write A Book

The question is from where Jordan got inspiration to write his brutaly honest and eccentric life? Actually, the inspiration came from an American-Canadian actor Tommy Chong who is famous for his movie series Cheech and Chong. Tommy Chong is cannabis rights activist too. He went jail multiple times. He caught arrested for selling drugs on internet.

In the Jail, he met with Jordan Belfort. Jordan Belfort used to tell his story to Tommy in the prison. Tommy told him to write his story in a book. So this is the story behind the book of The Wolf Of Wall Street.

Initially, for not getting the right time of filming Martin Scorsese left this project and started his new movie project "Shutter Island" with Leonardo DiCaprio. Warner Bros approached Ridley Scott to direct the movie. Ridley Scott wanted to cast Brad Pitt for lead character of Jordan Belfort. Chris Evans and Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave audition for the character of Donnie Azoff. On the other hand for Margot Robbie's character Naomi Lapaglia, They considered Amber Heard, Blake Lively, Teresa Palmer and Olivia Wilde. But Eventually, Warner Bros scraped this idea.

We can guess from book that which type of the man was Jordan Belfort but to play this character Jordan Belfort helped Leonardo DiCaprio. Jordan gave classes to Leonardo DiCaprio to perform his different behaviors for different situations specially how he felt when he drugged.

Jonah Hill always wanted to work with Martin Scorsese. He managed to gave audition for his character in this movie. Although he got least amount for his character in the movie but he was happy to work with Martin. He used to apply fake teeth for his character. To practice with his fake teeth he used to talk with random companies and call centers on phone.

Whenever we see movie's character consuming drugs, that was actually vitamin B's crushed tablets. Although consuming vitamin B from nose is not injurious but for character's intensity Jonah Hill took this seriously and got admitted in hospital for taking vitamin B through his nose to inside.

Animals are used in this movie. Specially the Chimpanzee and lion. The animals were brought from Sarasota County. It took 3 weeks to teach roller skates to that 4 years chimpanzee. This thing was heavily criticized by the animal lovers. Real Stratton Oakmont's employees clarified that these animals scenes were never happened in the office but that golden fish scenes was adopted right.

Martin Scorsese always encourages actors to Improvise their character. So it highly possible that your favorite scene from the movie might be Improvised by that actor. For example where Jordan Belfort wanted to go home while drugged, this scene to reach at car was improvised by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Other improvised scene was Matthew McConaughey creative thumb sound by beating his chest with his fist.

This is the signature move of Matthew McConaughey which he use to do before start every shot but Leonardo DiCaprio told him to do on screen.
