Ampleforth(AMPL) is both a cryptocurrency and a character from George Orwells novel 1984. This is kind of funny because of how AMPL is designed to function. You see the design of AMPL is not incredibly common it's more like a smart contract than a typical ERC20. The supply changes daily to effectively avoided the problem of diluting the market that means the amount of AMPL fluctuates rather than the value of the balance fluctuating. The concept is a little more complex than that I will try my best to explain it. As well as give you information about a MEME competition that will be active until 12/ 07 for $400 in AMPL. This seems fitting to have a meme for the most meta cryptocurrency ever.
The AMPL protocol automatically adjusts supply in response to demand. When price is high, wallet balances increase. When price is low, wallet balances decrease that is a unique solution to market volatility.
Today's cryptocurrencies are dangerously correlated. I have personally been expressing my concerns about the Ethereum 2.0 upgrade and the potential Ripple effects to the ERC20 market. AMPL's unique incentives allow it to decouple from Bitcoin's price pattern. This diversifying reduces the inherent to a homogeneous ecosystem. This is why the name ampleforth is funny to me lol nerd jokes.
Like precious metals, today's fixed supply cryptocurrencies are vulnerable to sudden shocks in demand and cannot be used to denominate complex contracts. As a result, sophisticated economies cannot be built upon them. This will be coin that is truly stable Gold standard and subsequently all Fiat backed currency is not able to be completely disconnected from the market that means it is going to fluctuate we are just less aware of it unless you are trading it in volume.
AMPL is non-dilutive. Supply adjustments are applied universally and proportionally across every wallet’s balance. This means your percent ownership of the network remains fixed. This is why while your balance is shifting your always will be entitled to the same amount of corresponding assets.
I have learned one thing from 2020 and that is when a unicorn 🦄 or a pancake is giving you financial advice 🤔 you should listen. If you're not getting the joke uniswap is the unicorn i should have been listening to and pancake swap is the pancake. So if the rule of thumb is to put your money on the most ridiculous things that you can think of then logically Ampleforth is a smart bet.
Many people likely are going to become more familiar with AMPL in the coming months due to the fact that PublishOx is now rewarding users with it. This is probably a good time to mention that you have to be sure that your wallet saved to your PublishOx account is smart contract enabled by 12/7.
