Who will save Nigeria?

There are some things that happen and one will begin to understand and appreciate some of our proverbs the more; I remember an Igbo proverb which says "ukwu jiru agu, mgbada abia ya ugwo"

which means "when the lion is crippled, the deer will challenge it to a fight"

That's exactly the case with Nigeria right now. Nigeria has become a laughing stock before other countries of the world, and Nigerians are treated like slaves everywhere they go even within Nigeria just because of the way their president presented the country and Nigerians to the world

I remember when he was newly elected into power, president Muhammadu Buhari was going about telling everyone that cares to listen that Nigeria is "fantastically corrupt", he was also quoted as saying that Nigerian youths are criminals and lazy

Now, Nigerians are treated with so much scorn and disrespect because even their leaders don't value them.

Unlike before, years back when Nigeria and Nigerians were revered and respected by other African countries as the "giant of Africa". those days, countries of feared Nigeria as a country and Nigerians are respected all over the world especially in Africa

But we see the direct opposite of all that today because our leaders don't even value us as humans, the police and other security agencies kill Nigerians at will and no one questions them

The ill treatments that Nigerians receive in their own country in the hands of their leaders have made it very easy for other countries of the world to maltreat Nigerians knowing that no one will even lift a finger.

Nigerians are victims everywhere they find themselves, even in their own country. Everyone seems to be against them and no where is safe

Nigeria is in dire need of help, desperately in need of rescue from her own leaders. Who is going to save Nigeria?
