Things have fallen apart

"Things have fallen apart, the center can no longer hold".

Those were the words of the late legend professor Chinualumogu Achebe, a man who saw tomorrow and cried out but no one cared to listen to him. Nigeria is now a silhouette of itself only existing in the mind of people who want to continue reaping where they did not sow

The foundation is hanging on falsehood and deceit and whenever the truth is revealed the whole building will come crashing. It is better to know and accept the bitter truth than to cover up lies with deceit, with guns and bullets

If you have been following recent stories from the major ethnic groups with regards to Fulani herdsmen terrorists in Nigeria, you would have noticed that nothing has ever separated the country more than the defensive mechanism and favoritism that the federal government has shown towards the terrorists over the years

The federal government has severally and continuously demonstrated openly and unapologetically that they value cows and Fulani terrorists more than the lives and well being of Nigerians from other regions, this has made each region foster unity among themselves and value their tribe more than the common interest of Nigeria as a country

The government has continued to fail Nigerians and deceive them, so they always look forward to anyone that can say a word and stand by it. Majority of the youths in the north throw their full weights behind Yerima Shettima the leader of the ariwa youth consultative forum because he seems to speak their minds on many issues, they listen to him and respect him in the north more than the president even though the president is also from the north

In the southeast, Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra is revered like a god, his followers run Into millions all over the world always waiting for his commands. People are always eager and willing to listen and obey whatever he says because they believe in him, they trust him and value him more than elected leaders from the southeastern region

The southwest seem to have gotten their hero in the person on Sunday Igboho, a human right activist who recently gave Fulani terrorists seven days ultimatum to vacate forests in the southwest or taste the people's fury, he visited Ogun state yesterday fulfilling his promise to liberate it from the grip of Fulani herdsmen who were being escorted into were bushes by the military against the wish of the people in that State

So, it's clear to even a blind man that Nigeria is divided into three major groups; arewa in the north headed by yerima shettima, Ipob in the southeast led by Nnamdi Kanu, and Oduduwa in the southwest led by Sunday Igboho. I may not be entirely correct as to what the people of each region want or whom exactly they want to be their leader. But one thing is sure, they are tired of lies and deceit from the government they voted for, the people are tired of being classified as second class and third-class citizens in their own country by few individuals who are not even bonafide citizens of the country

The people are enraged and the only thing keeping Nigeria together now is the power of guns and grenades, truth be told! The divide that we are seeing in the country is evidence that the people are tired of a forced marriage without terms and conditions, marriage without consent

Nigeria is a beautiful country blessed with great people and different resources but a few individuals sit on the wealth of the nation and impoverish the rest. The earlier the government brings everyone to the negotiation table, the better for everybody.

They are simply postponing the evil day compounding the consequences. If we still cherish our unity as a nation let's come together around the negotiating table with each region fully represented, let's point out the issues affecting the nation as a whole and shun ethnic or religious preference over the general interest of the nation. That's why we can thrive as a nation

Silencing people with guns and brute force cannot bring the desired peace and unity. You can kill the messenger but you can never kill the message, an ideology never dies, it's transferred from one person to another, from one generation to the next. If we want to be united we know what to do, let us do it. But if we're tired, we also know what to do, let's do it. Living in pretense or fear of guns will never do us any good, the underlying issues will always spring up now and then forever and ever. We should live peacefully as neighbors or friends than live as brothers in hatred and disunity Let's be reasonable. I love my country
