The Hundred Islands National Park is the first national park and a protect and presrrve area located in Alaminos, Pangasinan in the northern Philippines. This islands have a total of 124 at low tide and 123 at high tide that are scattered in Lingayen Gulf . But only three of them have been developed for tourism: Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island. Therefore, most of the islands are virgin and can't be used by people.
The islands are believed to be about two million years old. asibce, it's two old and preserve beauty there are actually ancient corals that extend well inland, in an area previously comprising the seabed of an ancient sea. The lowering of the sea level have exposed them to the surface. The peculiar "mushroom-like" shapes of some of the islands were caused by the eroding of ocean waves.
The national park was created by Presidential Proclamation No. 667, covering an area of 16.76 square kilometres (6.47 sq mi) and signed by President Manuel L. Quezon on January 18, 1940, and known as the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP).
There are a lot of Republic Act signed for the assurance of preserving the beauty of it and enlarging the property of the Three Islands that are open for tourist sports and protection for the abusement of others to the rest of islands. It also withdrawn and placed under the control and Supervision of Tourism Authority for development purposes.
Opening this island help the citizens of Pangasinan in their lives. Most of the employees of the island that protect and maintain the cleanliness of the Island are citizens of Pangasinan. It also help to open businesses for them such as restaurant and hotels.
