The photo of the Teachers from Batangas, Philippines went viral on the internet 2 days ago. It becomes the headline of most of the pages on Facebook and is featured on the news websites.

But, what is really going on with this photo? What it is really all about? Did they do it for fame? Did they just get bored because there is no face to face classes?

The photo shows 8 Teachers at the roof of the school building holding their mobile phones and modules. This catches the attention of the netizens in the whole Philippines. Some say it is too much like they are only overacting. Other netizens give sympathy for the teachers and pay respect to them.

In the current situation here in the Philippines, we are experiencing poor internet connections. That's why the classes are not all online and turn into blended learning by using an alternative way since the face to face classes is still prohibited because of the virus. Students who can not afford the equipments for online classes can choose modular lessons.

As of the start of classes last October 5, many complaints from teachers and students have been received. Mostly, it is the poor internet connection. Students and Teachers are experiencing this in many regions in the Philippines especially in those rural areas. Network signals are out of reach that they have to go to a higher area in their place, climb a tree, or climb the roof of their houses and school buildings in search of stronger signals. They sacrifice doing this every day just to update the students and also for the students to submit their activities.

This situation motivates the Teachers in Batangas to come up with an idea to make a movement. So, that is what they did. They climb to the roof of the school building with phones, modules, and routers.

They dramatize the situation of searching for stronger signals and take a picture of it. Then, they posted it on the social media platform called Facebook. It happens to be viral on the internet up until now.

Some pages like in the photo criticized them. Others who are commenting are making rude comments. But for me, it is not being overacted. It is for the sake of the message they want to portray to awaken those Telecommunication Companies who are not doing their service well.

I hope we should not criticize those Teachers immediately by seeing the photo once. Research proper information about it before leaving a comment. We didn't know their whole story. We didn't feel how they are really struggling.

So please, RESPECT OUR TEACHERS.
