And it was a great day, a day this damsel named olanma prayed and yearned for

She had waited so long for this day ..so much preparation , inviting so many people to grease the occasion , getting her dress sown by one of the best fashion designer in the country,her shoes,her neckless evrytin u could tink of was ready just to celebrate her 20th birthday . everybody came to celebrate with her,both friends, family and well wishers,she was the envy of all the maiden in the land.

Her beauty was adorned by virtually all the men in the land of umudike,every young men both from neigbouring community wanted to have her as a wife.who wouldn't wish to have this damsel as a wife ,she was not just beautiful facially but beautiful inside ,her heart is full of love for people ,she looks out for the well being of people arround her ,olanma will never see u and pass without greeting.she always reach out to the widows,less priviledge ,and people that needs help, she is down to earth .all this made her yearned respect from every one in the land of umudike,they loved and Respected her .olanma was not just a princess in the palace but a true and worthy princess of the land. Her 20th birthday was a day to always remember,it was glamorous,virtually every one brought gifts for her ,they celebrated her in a big way ,it was full of fun ,she was so happy seeing people celebrating her as if she was a mini goddess .she called that day an unforgettable day in her life

Everything was going so well for olanma ,she graduated from college ,went for her youth service came back as the best graduating student of the year.her parent(the king and queen of umueze) threw a big party for her to celebrate there daughter`s return and excellent performance .life was indeed a bed of roses for olanma .but one-day something tragic happened that kept so many in shock.....

Olanma became very sick, she was taken to the hospital,to acertain the cause of her sickness,but nothing was found ,series of test was conducted ,yet nothing was found she was getting worst as the day went by,her father the king resorted to fly her abroad to get the best medical treatment ,she spent two months abroad ,yet nothing to show for ,she was brought back to her father's house ,olanma was dieing slowly....Everybody got tired ,the parent were fustrated ,the mother cries her eyes out each day seeing her daughter in such situation and she couldn't do anything to save her ,

Her father decided to see a great seer from their neighboring village to know the cause of her daughters sickness that couldn't be cured medically..few days later,the seer came ,made his incantations and told the king that the reason for his daughters predicament was as a result of what he did in the past when he was young ,the king was confused cause he couldn't remember what he must have done in the past to warrant the strange illness that has befallen her daughter.he thought and thought but couldn't remember ,then the seer took him to the past by reminding him what happened 30years ago.

Okike was a very handsome man who was loved and wanted by virtually all the maiden in the land,he used that as an opportunity to flirt with every girl that comes his way,he makes sure that once he sleeps with any maiden ,he never sleeps with her again,he changed them as cloth ,used and dump them ,raped anyone that refuse him. unfortunately for him one of the maiden he raped got pregnant for him ,he denied ever meeting with her how much more having sexual intercourse with her,the maiden was so bittered cause the villagers embarrassed and disgraced her for getting pregnant out of f wedlock,she couldn't take the shame and pain again , she decided to abort the pregnancy ,on the process of terminating the pregnancy she bleeded profusely and gave up the ghost.just before she died ,she layed a curse on okike.now this curse has come after 30 years to hurt him.

The king wept and said all he did back then was a result of youthful exhauberance,and he begged the seer on what could be done to avert the curse so that her daughter could be well again.The seer made his incantation and told him nothing could be done,he has to pay the price for what he had done.few days later the beautiful olanma died because of what she knew nothing about.The father could not take the sudden death of her only child,few days later he slumped and died.olanma paid the price for her father mistake,and the father on the other hand paid the price for his deed.
