The peak of human evolution a God among men
Like a god he grabs his pen and creates his own world. A world of non physical dimensions wherein he is the sole dictator of the happenings, full access to which only him enjoys. You only catch a glimpse via cracks in the wall, cracks deliberately left by him, and superimposed with a glass prism to distort reality into what he wants you to see and believe.
When ever he grabs his pen, he ascends the azure skies into Apotheosis, he becomes the ideal man, he becomes a god. Things become clearer, and thoughts sharper. People look at him and see a glow, they marvel at his ingenuity, they marvel at the wealth of his knowledge, and the enormity of his sagacity. They but adore and worship him. Whenever he drops his pen, he descends from that exalted position to slum with the rest of humanity. He becomes engulfed and swallowed by the intricacies of the complex world of reality.
He becomes a shadow of the god he once was the Critic loses the advantage of observing from the side lines, and the poet, the tranquility that sharpens his muse. The motivational writer, like a mere man, falters and falls. And sometimes he even forgets how to get up, even though with the strokes made by his pen, he had orchestrated beautiful symphonies that helped others back on their feet.
This is the truth! the pen is radioactive,it transmutes us into superhumans. Like a refinery, it sublimates the writer, like an uneven **knife edge** it skews the balance between the Jekyll and the Hyde in favour of the **Jekyll**. What the reader sees and expects of the writer may not be what is obtainable in reality. The pen is like a wormhole through which the writer shuttles back and forth between reality and utopia; what you get depends on which side of the wormhole you meet him.
I am a writer, I am the Jekyll as well as the Hyde. The two are in a constant state of equilibrium in me. Le Chatellier's principle would have it that removal of one would tip the equilibrium towards the removed, while adding more of the other would tip the equilibrium away from the added. So how do I achieve perfection, how do I make my pen-conferred god status permanent? Dilemma!
Yes dilemma, but by crook or by means I would have more of the Jekyll, I would write and write until writing becomes me, for writing is the process of becoming. https://www.chemguide.co.uk/physical/equilibria/lechatelier.html

What if the tables were turned; would you still ride high on that moral horse?
Back in school I wasn't really the religious type. But I had sound moral principles, what most people may consider rigid, stiff, and stringent.
I was the guy people ran away from during exams, cos not only would I not ask you or tell you, but I will also make sure my papers were well covered so you couldn't have a peep. And oh, just so you know, this hasn't changed one bit! But before the exams? I don't mind spending my whole day teaching, explaining, demonstrating, gesticulating, breaking my head and pouring out my brain's grey matter for you to understand. One day we were arguing about examination malpractice, the reasons why some cheat and others don't, and I was saying that my not cheating was a conscious decision inspired by my sound moral upbringing.
But something a friend said hushed me, and made me to have a sober reflection on the subject. He said, " Chidi the reason you don't cheat is because you know that no matter how tough the exam you would always pass. If you were some of us that struggle to pass, and is almost always on the verge of failure, do you think your 'morals' would have kept you from cheating to make ends meet?"
Try all I did, I couldn't find a suitable defense for that rhetoric. Anything I said then would pass for just mere theories. Fact is until I wear that painful shoe of failing repeatedly , and walk that path of uncertainty and loss of self confidence, I wouldn't be sure what I would do. I had suddenly lost my bragging rights; that question shot me down from my moral high horse, and I lost the right to judge. The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy, says Martin Luther. Next time before you climb on your moral high horse to judge, take a break and ask yourself the billion dollar question, **What if the tables were turned?**
**DISCLAIMER**
The aim of this article is not to provide a moral justification, or an emotional excuse for wrongs. What is wrong is wrong.
It just calls for sober reflection and to remind us one of the numerous reasons why we should never be in a hurry to pass judgements.
And before we praise ourselves for doing good, we should always ask, what if the circumstances wasn't in our favour, would we have gone ahead to do said good?".

Renal glucosuria; Sugar In the urine but not in the blood.
GLUCOSURIA, also called GLYCOSURIA, simply means presence of sugar in the urine.
Under normal circumstances, sugar, even though filtered freely from the blood by the kidneys, doesn't appear in the urine. This is because, the proximal tubules of the kidneys avidly reabsorbs the filtered load of sugar.
So, sugar-glucose, is seldom seen in the urine, unless there's a spillover from the blood; that is, unless the blood levels are so high that it exceeds the renal threshold for glucose which is the blood sugar level at which the reabsorptive capacity of the proximal tubule of the kidney is overwhelmed. The renal threshold [RTG] for glucose is usually set at 160 to 180mg/dl. So, the presence of sugar in the urine suggests one thing that the level of sugar in the blood is at least up to 160 to 180mg/dl. This holds true except in conditions, like pregnancy, in which the RTG is reduced in such a way that sugar may appear in urine even when the blood glucose level is less than 160mg/dl.
**RENAL GLUCOSURIA**
When there's the presence of sugar in the urine, in the setting of euglycemia which is blood sugar levels within the normal range, which is usually below 126mg/dl after an overnight fast, it is referred to as **RENAL GLUCOSURIA**. This is because, presence of sugar in urine, in these cases, is independent of blood sugar levels, and is rather due to defective renal [kidney] reabsorptive mechanisms.
In some of these cases such as in Familial Renal Glucosuria, the only thing lost in the urine is glucose, and the condition is as such benign, with no known adverse health effects. In others such as Fanconi syndrome, or Fanconi-like syndromes as seen in Cystinosis, Lowe syndrome, Wilson's disease, and side effect of some drugs such as Tetracycline, and Tenofovir it is not only the reabsorptive capacity of the proximal tubule for glucose that is affected; and as such other substances like amino acids, bicarbonate, phosphates, uric acid, and sodium are also lost in urine. Thus, these causes of renal glucosuria have far reaching adverse health effects, including dehydration, poor growth, rickets, osteomalacia, metabolic acidosis, etc; depending on the age of onset.
**FANCONI SYNDROME**
In most cases, Fanconi syndrome, if severe enough, presents with: polyuria, polydipsia, dehydration, and renal glucosuria. Polyuria is usually not due to the glycosuria, but due to loss of sodium, and other solutes, in urine, as it is not just the tubular reabsorptive mechanisms for glucose that is impaired, but that of other substances as well. Proteinuria is also a feature of Fanconi and the index patient had 1+ of protein in urine. There was no way, within the provisions of the limited resources, to confirm the presence of the other solutes-- such as phosphates, uric acid, bicarbonate, and potassium-- in her urine. However, the loss of Bicarbonate, leading to Type 2 Renal Tubular Acidosis, could be inferred from the pH of the urine, which was acidic. Loss of phosphates in urine, can be inferred, not with certainty though, from the hip bone pains, which may actually be due to Osteomalacia [softening of the bones which may be caused by low blood phosphate levels]. More importantly, she's on Tenofovir! And there we have it: a possible cause.
**GLOMERULONEPHRITIS**
While Fanconi syndrome looks good, I have reasons to believe that this woman has a primary glomerular pathology, that was secondarily complicated by involvement of the tubulo-interstitium.
The urinalysis, apart from showing 2+ of glucose, also showed the following:
Proteinuria [1+]
Hematuria [1+]
Red cell casts
Granular casts
Nitrite was negative; WBCs were within normal range; and there was no history suggestive of UTI.
The presence of red cell casts in urine is often an indicator of glomerular pathology. Andnd with granular casts present, we may be looking at a chronic pathology.
With these, the patient meets the criteria for a nephritic glomerular pathology as follows:
New-onset hypertension
Edema [Oh, she said she's been having early morning facial puffiness for quite a while]
Hematuria
Nephritic range proteinuria
Azotemia [ SEUCr is still being awaited though as at the time of this article]
So, it is most likely the patient has Chronic Glomerular Nephritis, progressing to involve the tubulo-interstitium, leading to a Fanconi-like syndrome.
**CONCLUSION**
It is already known that certain tubulo-interstitial diseases of the kidneys such as Pyelonephritis can present with Fanconi-like syndromes. The presence of glucose in urine, in glomerular diseases, in an euglycemic state, is often indicative of advanced disease [ with more likelihood of progression to CRF Chronic Renal Failure] associated tubular atrophy, and interstitial scarring. It is believed that the proteinuria associated with these glomerular diseases, leads to both structural damage, and decline in functional capacity of the tubulo-interstitium. While this is a general consensus, the underlying mechanism is still being debated; however, it is thought to be similar to the mechanism of proximal tubule injury in Multiple myeloma, which often leads to a Fanconi-like syndrome. In the cause-effect sense though, it is important to note that glycosuria has no effect on renal function; it is rather a fall-out of a pattern of renal dysfunction, which is tubulo-interstitial dysfunction. In other words, glucosuria, in these settings is an indicator of tubulo-interstitial dysfunction, which in turn is a chief driver of the progression to Chronic Kidney Disease.

I've just read some stories about people loosing tens of millions to Ponzi schemes in the country. Well, people are very intelligent and clever with their money until they are offered these get-righ-quick schemes. All the same, I believe the government owes citizens a basic level of protection against financial hawks and foxes of this nature. Since there is no will to proscribe them, I will submit that the government should at least compel them to include the simple word, PONZI in their name and all their advert materials, transaction documents, correspondences and so forth. That way, the element of citizen innocence would have been significantly reduced. To leave things running like this smells like legitimating crime and giving it sanctuary in the country. That cannot be right.
Should they therefore be taxed? I don't know. Maybe I've even contradicted myself!
Merry Christmas.
Time solves everything
Breakthrough in quantum teleportation has just been achieved.
Scientists have finally been able to transport information at a speed faster than light.
One day, it is going to be actual objects doing the movement.
Personally, I respect Albert Einstein and his theory of relativity.
I respect the fidelity of that theory.
But you see “faster than light” travel?
I think it is possible without violating Einstein’s theory.
Whoever created the Andromeda galaxy and placed it 2.2 billion light years away from us, also has a way of reaching it in record time.
It’s either that, or the human brain is not intelligent enough to crack the code.
I would go for the former.
Afterall, we do not see the forces of gravity but have been able to overcome it.
Should we be worried about coronavirus mutations?
The Coronavirus may end up slightly modifying the human genome. This is plausible when you look at available literature on what has been called the 'long Covid' against the background of the rapidity with which the virus is mutating. Genome editing through active natural means has easy prehistorical references in the origin of eucariotic cells, for example and in findings relating to the mitochondria, the powerhouse of cells - which are but independent cells that were captured and enslaved to work as power generators of cells. It will take time but the Coronavirus may be going down that lane of making itself our permanent family member by incorporating itself in human DNA and inebriating or hardening us in so doing. Or it could hide there as junk DNA, awaiting activation or playing hard-to-explain roles.

Power of Indian housewives.
Precisely, over 11% of the world's gold is held by Indian housewives. This is more than the combined gold reserves of Switzerland, USA, Germany and IMF put together. It is close to $ 1 Trillion according to recent estimates.
And that is precisely one asset nobody can dispossess a woman of in Indian.
To Indian women, gold is everything.
According to Anthropologist Nilita Mehrotra, "A married woman is supposed to be an auspicious woman. She represents Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. She produces the progeny for the family, the food. She takes care of the family, it i's very important. It's central to the way Indians think."

The Ship of Theseus.
In the ancient Greek allegory, Theseus — the founder-king of Athens — sailed triumphantly back to the great city after slaying the mythic Minotaur on Crete.
For a thousand years, his ship was maintained in the harbor of Athens as a living trophy and was sailed to Crete annually to reenact the victorious voyage.
As time began to corrode the vessel, its components were replaced one by one — new planks, new oars, new sails — until no original part remained. Was it then, Plutarch asks, the same ship? There is no static, solid self.
Throughout life, our habits, beliefs, and ideas evolve beyond recognition. Our physical and social environments change. Almost all of our cells are replaced. Yet we remain, to ourselves, “who” “we” “are.”
So with science: Bit by bit, discoveries reconfigure our understanding of reality. This reality is revealed to us only in fragments.
The more fragments we perceive and parse, the more lifelike the mosaic we make of them. But it is still a mosaic, a representation — imperfect and incomplete, however beautiful it may be, and subject to unending transfiguration.

To live a great life
To live a great life, you must lose your fear of being wrong. Remember that doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing. Even when things don’t work out, they do. Because in the end, experience is what you get when you didn’t get exactly what you wanted, and experience is often the most valuable thing you have to give..
So don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. Don’t let someone scare you out of failing forward. All of life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. Either you will succeed or you will learn the next best step. Win-win.

Only God assured our safety.
It's only when you acknowledge the battle belongs to the Lord, that you can lay claim to your victory in him.
Surrender to God.
Rest in his Everlasting arms,
He will keep you off the way of harm
Favour you in his own terms
Still your raging seas to calm.
For your wounds, he sooth you a balm
you are inscribed on his gracious palm
You won't be put to shame,
Cause on the cross, he has taken the blame.
Live in his purchased victory,
Your present fears will become history
Your life puzzles will be soon unraveled
Wear that smile, tho you may be embattled.
If life ain't a bed of beautiful roses,
Be yourself, don't borrow a fake pose
You are on your way to be the boss
Embrace your worth in big doses.
Please, realize you have a big God,
KING over kings, LORD above Lords
He's your refuge and your solid Rock
He will give your haters their biggest shock.
In Him, have you graciously put your trust,
All that is not worth you, will becomes rust
Out of you, rivers of living waters rush
Until all that pulls you back, are away washed.
You are a fountain that won't run dry.
Hold on, Don't let go.
It has some toxic people out there who care not about how hurt you've been on the inside, but they compound your griefs with their 'heart wrenching' utterances.
What is their gain pulling down others?
Earlier, at work today, one of my bosses insulted me over a slight mistake, his usage of words were so pericarious, that I had to look for a quiet place to let the hot tears flow.
He appealed negatively to my emotions, I was provoked and bursted out in anger.
I'm an empath of a guy, and I've got deep feelings.
(I did not insult him oo, ain't cut out that way )
As a result, the reality of my struggles took on a depressing shape,
But I'd comfort myself that everything is going to be all right at last.
There might be someone experiencing some similar stuff out there,
Hold on, Don't let go.
Tighten your grip on the ropes, we are all going to be okay.
The pathetic situation is not calling for your end, but rather building, and nuturing you for the Best you're meant to become in life.
It's just a phase, it will pass.
Self reminder to you.
I thought I am your Soulmate
When will I be your heart's entity?
You keep hiding my identity,
I have different titles in the public domain,
I thought I am your Romain,
Perhaps I am not your main,
When you are with Mike, you keep telling him I am your Cousin,
I thought I am your Sweetest muffin,
When you are with Brian, you keep telling him I am your uncle,
I thought I am your Love Pinnacle,
When you are with John, you claim I am your former classmate,
I thought I am your Soulmate,
And when you are with Onyango, you keep telling him I am the caretaker of the plot you live in...
I thought I am the Caretaker of your heart,
You never want me to be in the limelight...
With all these title art,
It seems I have not even clinched a little of your heart,
Ain't sure if I am the One,
Or I am just None.

Be kind but love yourself first
You must learn to look out for yourself and assert it very strongly, because the more selfless you get, the more daring the opportunists become and encroach aggressively every territory you temporarily step off.
While you concede ground out of love, to them, it begins to look like a conquest and a battle with a fool whose only choice is to keep retreating.
Be bold enough to occupy your space even when you instinctively want to share. Many don't know the difference between love and being weak, so watch it before you build yourself a huge trap.
Be kind but love yourself first, else your heart will declare your space empty while your mind sleeps. And you know, nature abhors vacuum...

You will need people more than you would ever need money in this life... I know this by experience and that's why I will never trade friendship for one-off materialistic gain, when we can continue to be friends, grow together and benefit from our diverse perspectives.
Look around you, and you'd notice success is a function of the quality of your network. I've been around long enough to know this; what goes around comes around.
That friendship you sacrificed for selfish gain will be in the future, at the gate of one of your biggest breakthrough and only its "YES" is all you'd need to make it through!
Ego; the last enemy that must be conquered for reconciliation to take place.
Once again I saw them: happy middle aged couple wearing matching outfits, holding each other's hands and laughing like newly weds.
I just don't get it, how adversity could turn to be "a blessing in disguise", if I could borrow that annoying popular cliché for just a moment.
Just about two months ago they had been estranged from each other, separated for about three years. It was something he did I gathered; cheating on her with fragrant disregard, and abusing her emotionally. That's another thing I don't quite get; how lovers suddenly become total strangers; how people that had so much love for each other that they were able to stay together for some 18 years, sharing every moment of their lives; how they suddenly develop so much resentment for each other that they separate for close to 3yrs! More than 1000 days.
And yet here is an example of such people. Even though they now seem to have rediscovered the love they shared abinitio, acting all lovey dovey like some teenage couple who just fell in love for the first time. There must be something about staying with someone for a long time that makes you lose sight of the reasons you loved them . And there must be something in separation that makes you rediscover that, and give you enough time to mourn it **what you're missing** every waking moment of the day. So that when you get that second chance, you make it work with the last drop of your blood. Yeah, a second chance; I'm sure the world is littered with many **douche bags** whom separation have given enough time to realize what they are missing, and they are now praying for an opportunity to pop up, so they can make a play at getting a second chance.
For this dude it came in the most unexpected form. The estranged wife, a known hypertensive, had suffered a hypertensive crisis and lost consciousness. By some stroke of luck he was in the vicinity and was the one who rushed her to the hospital. For 3 days he didn't leave her side; he was always there praying, caring, worrying, doing everything necessary to help her pull through. And when she finally opened her eyes, he was still there, and continued being there for the rest of her stay in the hospital. I don't know what happened "under covers," but all I know is that they both went home together upon her discharge. And from then onward, he was always the one bringing her to the hospital for her check ups, in matching outfits Lol!
Yes I know he loved and married her. Yes I know along the line he became a **douche bag** and she left. Yes I know that the role he played in her getting back to her feet helped in getting them back together. But no, I don't think all of it happened that fast. I think he had earlier realised what he was missing in her, how stupid he was for leaving her to chase those other ladies. I think he had already realized that long ago, but the ego was in the way. I think seeing her lying there unconscious, and the greater fear of him losing her forever, was what helped him ditch his ego, or it could be that he saw the knight-in-shining-armour stunt as a convenient way of making his move without hurting his ego.
Whichever is the case, it's still about conquering the ego; it's the last enemy that must be conquered for reconciliation and reunion to take place.
