vaccine for covid19

It's still too early to tell. The latest vaccine update: A vaccine in the works by biotech company Moderna, Inc. (and in partnership with the National Institutes of Health) showed some early success in a small human trial. In this particular trial, the researchers gave eight healthy participants two doses of the vaccine starting in March, and they developed novel coronavirus antibodies (a sign that these healthy people had some type of immune response to the virus).

That's reassuring—but it's important to keep in mind that this was only a Phase I study, and there are more phrases to get through before this vaccine (or any, for that matter) will be deemed both safe *and* effective and get the official green light from the FDA. Only then can a vaccine be manufactured and mass distributed. Also, this study still has to be peer-reviewed (meaning experts in the field check it over for any issues or problems).
