Sugawara Kōshi

Sugawara Kōshi is the gentle vice-captain of Karasuno High School Boys Volleyball Team. He is a third year student and a setter of Karasuno. He is the definition of a soothing personality and serves as a pillar that motivates his team and is very dependable. If you admire Tsukishima Kei’s intelligence inside the court, don’t forget that Sugawara Koshi is smart in strategies. He comes up with the useful tactics that his teammates can use, this includes the idea of saying “send it to me” and “bring it” for the crazy duo Kageyama and Hinata. While his teammates were asleep, he managed to think of hand signals that they can use during matches. Also, the name of Kageyama and Hinata’s new technique “Back Minus” was suggested by Suga, and he’s really proud of it. His dedication to volleyball is strong that he decided to stay at Karasuno because he said that even though he is not a starting member, he don’t want to regret it in the future. Since he’s often in the sidelines he closely watch their opponent’s play and give advice on how they can beat the other team. Suga practiced spiking during the summer training camp arc and he used it to confuse rivals during matches. He was responsible for the team’s synchronized attacks. When Karasuno and Aobajosai faced the court, Suga comes up with two strategies. First, he acts as a pinch server so Kentaro Kyotani will be forced to receive the serve from the front line, causing Kentaro to slow down thus stopping his spike. Second, the Calculated One-Point Two Setter, it is a synchronized attack wherein Sugawara acts as the setter and Kageyama as a spiker, which means Karasuno will have five available spikers. He also became the fifth spiker from Nishinoya Yu’s tosses during the final set of the match between Shiratorizawa. He’s voice actor is Miyu Irino the same voice actor of Haku (Spirited Away), Shin and Shun (Children who chase lost voices), Takao Akizuki (The Garden of Words), Yadomi Jinta “Jintan” (Anohana), Shoya Ishida (A silent Voice), Ariel (Maquia), and others.
