An Open Letter to Nurtured Learners

Dearest Students,

If you feel like your whole sky collapse and your world is about to fall, always think of stars that are drawn in the sky in times of darkness. Without sky you will never witness the glimmer of stars even in darkness. The world rotates in its axis and revolves around the sun. Teachers serve as the sun that gives light for one could see things visible. They enlighten every student’s mind and give warmth to a hardhearted one.

If you want to poison what you have started, always bear in mind that “You can’t reap what you don’t sow.” It resembles a matter of give and take. Success is like waiting for the sun to set. It requires effort. In order for you to reap the creamiest crop, you need to choose the most viable seed. Choose the suitable soil. Nurture the seed with patience, love and hard work. As the seed produces its stem and leaves keep your eyes on it to defeat stray animals. There will be times of drought and storms but always protect the plant until it grows, and turn into a mature one. Embrace every season that passes. Because that is one of the proofs of maturity until it blooms its flowers and bears its fruits. Just stay positive and have faith.

If you want to burn the knowledge that was dispensed by your teachers you should bear in mind those first things first. They say “Save the last for best.” But as for me, there is what we call ‘priority.’ You need to make an outline what matters most. First things always serve as the framework of success like building a house. Isn’t it that there is always a structural framework that will serve as the foundation of the house? Without these, you cannot say that a house is a house without building materials. You need hollow blocks, sand, gravel, and bags of cement before paint.

And lastly, if you feel like you want to end your life knowing that the only reason why you are still here is to survive, guard yourself with the statement ‘I don’t want to survive. I want to live.’ Because survival means you just need to keep your heart beating. To survive means to just sustain your needs. To continue existing in spite of hardship.

Living comprises love, hope and laugh. You are not here in this world without love. To live is to continue your journey, crossing the right path full of hope and dreams. Never back down when facing all the challenges in life. Laugh at your failures and shortcomings not in a way that you’re taking them for granted. Just think positively. Take them as your inspiration for you to surpass them all. And lastly, you are not here only to survive but to live. To live is to do what makes you happy, to do what is right as well. Everything is a choice. So choose to be happy because you are loved.

I know that at this juncture, your minds are filled with buts and what ifs. But always remember that everything comes for a reason. Maybe you are alone right now but never lonely because you have Him. Close your eyes. Bleed and let tears to fall. Believe in Him, in His will. Because in Him, nothing is impossible.
