With a 4:0 thrashing of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Barcelona ended a three-year El Clasico winless streak. Los Blancos' demise was orchestrated by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored two goals and added an assist in the game.
The Gabonese took the lead with a close-range header, and Ronald Araujo added a second goal in the first half, with both assists coming from Ousmane Dembele. Ferran Torres converted an Aubameyang backheel early in the second half before adding the icing on the cake with a clean finish that was awarded by VAR after being initially disallowed for offside. It was a fantastic game for Barcelona and their coach, as it was his first El Clasico victory as a manager.
