Pinoy baiting is using Filipinos to gain views on YouTube. Put some Philippine flag in the thumbnail to summon Filipinos. They used Filipinos to gain more money using views from them. That’s what is the meaning of Pinoy Baiting.
Actually, there are many foreigners too making Korean videos that have more views than Filipino videos. Some of their viewers are not just Korean but International. Despite that Korean think of it as a good thing because it will help their country to be promoted and it blooms the tourist more. They think it’s fine if foreigners got the profits about it because they work hard about it to promote their country.
Our tourism is blooming and noticed because of these vloggers who took a part in it. Many Filipinos got amazed at how many places in the Philippines that not so known for them but get recognize because of these vloggers. It’s not their fault if they got many viewers from the Philippines when it is supposed to be the viewers from international who are interested in the Philippines.
They are many foreigners who do reaction videos about the Philippines. It makes Filipinos triggered.
I saw some youtube videos about Chinese/Thai/Indonesian students react to. Some of them are required by their Filipino teachers to reach for the Filipino videos she gave in. Then some Filipinos in the comment section request many Filipino videos. Naturally, Filipinos are thirsty for attention and recognition.
Instead of being bitter about that kind of content of some foreigners, much better to think about it as an opportunity that our country got promoted. There are many places in the Philippines where are not famous but got discover because of vlogs. If you don’t really like to see that kind of vlogs, you can skip it and don’t watch it. Personally, I don’t really watch that kind of video especially the reaction videos but it depends on what kind of topic it was.
