When you eat, the food goes into your stomach, and your stomach takes time to process the food, so if you go to sleep right after eating, the stomach acid in your stomach will easily rise upward, causing you to feel pain or a burning sensation. in the intestines to the throat. this is prone to occur in sufferers of stomach ulcers.

In addition to triggering heartburn and pain in the intestines and throat, going to bed immediately after eating can cause sleep apnea or stroke. This was stated by a research team at the University of Greece that eating distance that is too close to bedtime can cause stomach acid, impaired blood sugar levels, blood pressure and cholesterol, thus impacting sleep upnea and stroke disorders.

Then the question will arise, when can I sleep after eating? How long will it take?

To process food, the stomach needs 2-3 hours 2-4 hours, which is the time span or distance between eating and sleeping, so at least before going to bed there is a distance of about 2 hours.

Should I sleep hungry? Not like that. There are foods you can eat before bed.

While it's not recommended to eat too close to bedtime, that doesn't mean you have to sleep hungry.

You can consume before bed. For example a glass of warm milk. A glass of warm milk before bed can make you relax and more comfortable while sleeping. Apart from a glass of fresh milk, you can also eat fruits such as bananas, apples, pears and so on. The reason is, this fruit is easier for the stomach to digest.

Because there are foods that can be consumed before bed, there are also foods that should be avoided before bed, for example foods that are high in sugar and stimulants such as coffee or caffeine. The reason is, these foods can make it difficult for you to sleep, besides that, avoid foods that are high in fat and spicy foods.
