Splinterlands Mining Challenge | Ant Miners challenge
This week's share your battle challenge involves using a monster from the fire Splinter.
This monster works in teams and uses teamwork to enhance its digging skills.
As a battles progresses its strenght usually increases. If left alone it can burn your rivals.
Without further ado let's dig into it!
Theme: Ant Miners
Ant Miners are a common reward card that were released during the untamed series.
With only 2 Mana they provide a great choice for battles with low mana.
Even though it starts with 1 lifepoints, it is able to fully compensate for this drawback with the scavenge ability.
Miners are the only card in the fire splinter that come this ability. It increases its lifepoints by 1 whenever an enemy dies.
At level 6 it is able to become an ever better defensive wall with the shield ability.
The Miners are more suited for defense and endurance. The reason for this is that its attack only raises to 2 once it is maxed and its speed is also low.
Price
The Miners have been undergoing the same trend as pretty much all of the cards in the game.
In March the Miners were available for less than 3 cents of a Dollar. Nowadays a single Ant Miners will cost you 40 cents, a 1300%+ increase!.
For those who missed the chance to access the Miners for a cheaper price there is the Rental market as well. It is available for the low price of 0.12 DEC per day at level 2.
Where NOT to use
Matches with High mana cap
Back to basics
Explosive Weaponry
On matches with high mana cost there are other cards that are better suited.
The Gelatinous Cube for example has more hitpoints and is even able to heal at higher levels.
Usually the Miners aren't going to be the defining factor offensively.
On Back to basics the Miners lose their main ability to scavenge. Due to its low hitpoints and melee attacks it isn't advisable to put it at the front.
On Explosive Weaponry the Miners might become victims of the crossfire due to the low amount of hitpoints.
Where to use
Matches with high low cap
Equalizer
Noxious Fumes
On Matches with low mana cap the Miners come to shine as it can provide a defensive wall with only 2 mana.
When it comes to Equalizer the Miners are usually enhanced due to their low hitpoints.
Equalizer is specially great for cards that can heal or increase its hitpoints with scavenge or life-leech.
On Noxious Fumes if used correctly the Miners can outlive other cards by scavenging.
It is recommended to put on a last place and to have other cards that die so that they can feed the Miners.
The Battle
This Battle took place in a ranked battle.
It involves the ruleset of "Noxious Fumes" and "Equal Opportunity" and a mana cap of 27.
For this battle I brought Yodin Zaku at level 1, whereas my rival used Lyanna Natura at level 1 as a summoner.
My Lineup
1. Cerberus: The healing tank. It should be able to withstand the damage from the rival's first card and the poison by healing.
2. Creeping Ooze: The Ooze is able to slow the rivals and can help me evade attacks. This is crucial for Noxius Fumes.
3. Ant Miners: The Miners of the week. They are in a great position to cover the frontlines and should increase their health by scavenging.
4. Exploding Dwarf: It is able to deal a massive amount of damage by combining blast with an opportunity attack.
5. Serpentine Spy: Can deal a great amount of damage for few mana. For this ruleset the Kobold Bruiser might have been better though.
6. Spark Pixies: With great speed and a range boost by Yodin Zaku it can deal an important first strike against a rival.
For this battle Yodin Zaku was appropriate. Not only he increases health by 1, it provides the blast ability to all my cards.
This combined with Equal Opportunity can become a lethal combination.
My fast cards were able to deal damage first. This was the downfall of my rival's Rexxie.
Due to the speed advantage my Rival's Orc was unable to hit my Dwarf. In the end the cards that I lost were only due to poison.
My Miners were able to take down my rival's Orc and ended up with the highest amount of hitpoints.
That being said the difference in card levels and summoners need to be taken into account. For this battle I had a significantly high advantage.
See you in the Battlefield!
