Are you feeling pressured about being successful? Having doubts about your self—about your skills, abilities, and the things that you can do?
It's pretty normal to feel pressured especially right now when you are on your 20's, feeling like you are in the middle of two generations. Having doubts about your self, most likely when you just finished college and starting to face the 'real world'. After so many years of studying, you've finally reached your goal; to graduate. Thinking that you can do everything that comes on your way especially right now that you have your degree. But then, reality hits you right in the face; it's not that easy. From sending an application to job interviews, to finally settle on a job that you think suits you. Those are the first thing that pressure you.
Eventually, you got a job. Adjusting little by little on your surroundings, having realized that what you are into right now is way different from what you were when you were still studying. Everything's based on your own performance, your own skills. Right then and there, you felt the pressure of being not just a 'good' employee, but to be the 'best' employee.
There are some days you felt down, knowing that you might actually just 'that' person right now. A person who's like living a repetitive life cycle while your colleagues, your classmates are already successful and probably living their best lives. You started to pity yourself, even questioned your decisions. What's wrong with you? Why are you still in that position after a few years of being employed? Aren't you gonna have the promotion? Those are things that pressure you.
But, did you even once thanked yourself? Congratulate yourself for doing a job well done finishing college? Sometimes, we're focused on the things that we thought are in the 'bigger picture', we forgot the little details that brought us to where we are right now. Being pressured is okay, but not make it to the point that you will question yourself, your abilities and your decisions. It's not that you're not good enough if you're not in the same phase with your colleagues. We all have different paths, a different timelines. You just have to take your own pace. We just have to be patient, to be excited on what the world may serve you. Maybe it's not your time yet, but trust the process, especially, trust yourself and you will you be surprised, you actually made it!
