It's Not Over Until You Win

If you want to be successful, here's the thing you have to do. You have to jump. There is no way around it. Every successful person has jumped. You have to take a risk. You have to dash off that cliff and jump out as far as you can. Many times, you stand on the edge of life and see other people soaring by gliding down like a bird in the air. Do you know why?

Because their parachute is open, but the only way to get your parachute to open is to soar. You've got to jump now. Here's the problem when you jump. I can assure you of one thing. I guarantee you that your parachute will not open right away.

You're going to hit the sides, the rocks. You're going to tear your back out on a little cliff. You're going to cut yourself. You're going to get wounded. You're going to get some tears and stuff like that, but eventually, it's going to open and you're going to Your parachute will be open and you will be soaring, but here's the other caveat.

Let me teach you this right here. If you do not jump, I guarantee you that your parachute will never open. You're safe, but you're never soaring, so you've got to jump. It's not easy, and it's not an option. Life is hard. It's hard to handle just the tragedies of life when you're working on something and you put everything you have into it and it doesn't work out. You lose your money and other people's money.

You will go through things, and while you're going through them, you won't understand why you needed that lesson. But after you get through it, you look at it and you say, "Oh, now I understand why I needed that lesson." That's what I did. I couldn't understand it there, but after I got through it, I saw that it was preparing me for bigger and better things.

As you go through the challenges of life, you look at them and embrace whatever comes to you. Don't run from it, step toward it. Don't try and duck it like most people do when you handle those hard things close at hand, making those hard decisions right now that you don't want to make.

You understand that in order to get where you want to go, you must do things you don't want to do, but you know you must. You must jump through this hoop, and I say to you, whatever you have to do.

It's hard to do because if you don't, life is going to whoop you until you surrender. So if it's hard to do because all things are possible, step out. Stop trying to stay in your safe, comfortable zone all of the time. We must be courageous, bold, and brave. Step out even if you don't understand what it is.

Even if you're not certain you'll succeed, you'll never know if you can succeed unless you're willing to take a chance on failing.
